Thinking it over, you can get a better OLB in the 2nd than a QB.

I'm going Gabbart, then the OLB in the 2nd.

We have to start sometime. Might as well be now.

Brooks Reed in the 2nd. Or Ayers.

Prince in 1 since Peterson is gone.

Then get Acho in round 2

A perfect draft for me.

With the 4th pick...the Bengals take DE Da'Quan Bowers.

Now your boy Desertdumbass is on the clock with the Az 5th pick.

Players picked already
1 Green

Trade rumors are floating.

With the 5th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft Arizona Cardinals (with me as GM:D) TRADE!!!

Az Cards trade their 5th (first rounder) and 102nd (fourth round) to the Jacksonville Jaguars for their 16th (first round), 49th (second round), and 80th (third round) picks.

Some won't dig this trade but I like it.

The dude offered his 1st, 2nd, and 4th rounders for my 5th pick originally, I came back with the offer above and he reluctantly accepted. He led me to believe he was gonna go defense in PM land, and then he just picked Gabbert. (I was going to go Gabbert)

I did this trade because I wanted lots of options on O-line, linebackers, and DEs.
I probably won't do much with the secondary unless someone slides down the board and I feel I have to.

(4 round MOCK draft)

Picks were (overall) 5th,38th,69th, and 102nd.

Picks I now have are (overall) 16th,38th,49th,69th, and the 80th.
1 pick in the first round, 2 picks in the second round, and 2 picks in the third round.

I will be done picking midway through the third round, but I have a lot more decisions to make now. I might still snag a QB in the second round.

What do yall think? :) (ON THE TRADE AND WHO I SHOULD PICK)

16: Gabe Carimi (OT-Wisconsin)
38: Brooks Reed (OLB-Arizona)
49: Jabal Sheard/Cameron Heyward (DE-Pitt/tOSU)
69;):Quan Sturdivant (ILB-UNC)
80: John Moffit (G-Wisconsin)

I would take Constanzo because we have more need for a left tackle and I believe Carimi is a RT

I like Jabaal Sheard for OLB

I hate LTs that are small. Give me the giants every time. It's one of the reasoons I'm really down on this class with Smith and Solder essentially being juiced up TEs and Castonzo not having ideal drive blocking strength. I'll take the Sherrods or the Carimis all day everyday.

You're right that Sheard is an OLB.

I am hoping for Tyron Smith, Quinn, or maybe even Nate Solder for my 16th pick.

Trade value: Cards give up 1700+92, Jags give up 1150+410+190. The real Jags would never make that trade for Blaine Gabbert, but you got a steal.

I like Tyron Smith, OT, USC at that point, I think he's better than the BC guy or the Wisconsin guy. But that's me.

I regret that there isn't more tape on OTs, but I did find this and I wasn't too impressed.

Top LTs can't be driven backwards. They're too massive to move off the line, and they're too wide to run around he doesn't seem like either, and he's not exactly going up against dominant competition.

Let's not even discuss that he's a RT and not a LT.

1) He's a RT.

2) We already have a giant, fat, Big 10 lineman. He stinks. There's a difference between an offensive lineman who's taken #1 overall or #3 overall and one who's taken in the middle of the first round.

Jabaal Sheard is the type of junkyard dog this defense needs. He can turn the corner AND bull rush. I would seriously look at this guy in the 2nd if we go Peterson or QB in the 1st.

I think I like the trade, the trade chart showed it relatively even. The only problem with the trade is that you traded down and passed on potential elite players, like Dareus, for iffy guys like Houston, Costanzo, and others. I can see it though because the Cards have so many needs.
At 16, I think it's too high for Carimi. Houston has to be in the mix. Aldon Smith, maybe. Kerrigan, Cameron Jordan,JJ Watt and Adrian Clayborn are all there.
Please don't take JJ Watt. He's the one guy I don't want the Cards to take, meaning they'll take him at 5. Don't do it to me twice.
My gut pick would be Costanzo or Houston. My head pick would be Clayborn. He was too good as a junior. He had a down senior year but they asked to him play a different role.

That trade eerily resembles the one made by RG when he passed on Suggs (or Trufant or Kevin Williams etc.) and traded down for two later first round picks, winding up with Bryant Johnson and Calvin Pace.

Forget about the yecchy outcome for a moment - strategically, the Cards traded out of the elite pool of talent at or near the top of the draft in order to pick up a couple of players with lesser talent further down. And to top it off, they didn't get the guy they were shooting for (a pass-rusher MacDougal who turned out to be a bust anyway).

Fortunately, we learned our lesson and never did something like that again. And what was that lesson?

"Don't sacrifice elite talent for quantity or potential."

In other words, if we were to trade down from #5 to #16, there had better be 11 similarly-talented players still available on our board so that we'd be guaranteed of getting at least one of them.

Forget about the Carimi vs. Costanzo vs. Solder argument - I'm not sure any of them would be there at #16. There has been some buzz about the Mizzou guy (Smith) but if he were that good, why hasn't he been higher up on most draft boards in the first place? Not that he isn't good - just that he seems to be a somewhat less sure-fire lock.

Finally, the "buyers remorse" with regard to Miller - Basing a comparison with Hughes last year is a bit of "apples to oranges" because, in Miller, our primary goal is to add an elite edge pass rusher (anything more would be considered gravy). A legitimate argument could be made - that you don't want to spend a #5 pick on a one-trick pony - but I'd counter by pointing out that we've used B-Train and Chike in pretty much the same way that we'd use Miller and that worked out pretty much OK.

All I know is what I see on tape - and Miller looks like the real deal (His only drawback, as I see it, is that - based on some awkwardness with the Combine position-drills - he tends to get geeked up and just needs to settle down).

No way a guy like this can ever make the Hall of Fame.

Jonathon Ogden was the most dominant player in college football (at any position) the second he stepped on the field, and Ogden was ****ing massive. They didn't make a helmet in his size for gods sake.

This mock draft is putting a boogey woogey on my brain. I want one of the respectable defensive guys that will be gone soon (I think they are spying on me...so I won't say who), and at the same time I feel like I have to go O-line while the talent is there. Thinking I might be shopping some more picks.
