Tom Tupa started 13 games for us. He went 4-9 and completed just 50% of his passes for 9 TDs versus 22 picks. He threw about 165 yards a game in those starts and was sacked 38 times.
He actually won 4 games. That’s more than a lot of our long list of woeful QBs. Do you believe Lindley could’ve done so? Gelbaugh?

I am admittedly shading this based on taking him in the first round. I think both those guys were over 50% though. Let me check.

Hah nope Gelbaugh 49.1% 10 TDs to 22 picks so yes he is worse than Tupa. That's special

Huh?

Tupa was a 3rd round pick and Gelbaugh was a 6th round pick.

I have a toss up here. Its either QB Stoney Case or QB Stan Gelbaugh.

Case was selected by the Cardinals in the third round of the 1995 NFL Draft (10 picks in front of WR Antonio Freeman). When Kent Graham went down they started Case and he lasted only 1 game. Jake Plummer then started his career.

Dallas picked Gelbaugh in the 6th round of the 1986. Sent the next 4 years between the CFL and Buffalo. Played 1 game as a QB. Came to the Cardinals as a back up to Tom Tupa and crapped his pants for only 3 games then cut.

Dave Brown

49.22% 4 TDs to 9 INTs/29 sacks/6 fumbles playing part-time over a 4-year-period (7 games started, 16 played total). Often banged up or injured. Very uninspiring play at the position.

Dave Brown was the first-round supplemental draft pick for the Giants before coming to the Cards.

Stan Gelbaugh
  • 0-3 record as starter
  • 61/118, 51.7% completion percentage
  • 3 touchdowns, 10 interceptions
  • 4 fumbles, 10 sacks taken
  • 42.1 QB rating
You can also make a case for:
John Navarre
  • 0-1 record as starter
  • 32/64, 50% completion percentage
  • 2 touchdowns, 5 interceptions
  • 1 fumble, 5 sacks taken
  • 43.9 QB rating
And we can't forget:

Tony Sacca - 2nd round pick from Penn State
We have a winner here. Drafted in the 2nd round Sacca lasted just one season played in 2 games went 4/11 for 29 yds. (36.4 comp%) and 2 INTs. A QBR of 5.3 He was a horrible QB at PSU and never should have been drafted so high.

Some many to choose from, haha.

The old timers will remember Tom Tupa's name. Those two games for the "Phoenix" Cardinals back in 1989 were.... interesting. :)

Did Strevler start a game in the 2020 season? I'd put him near the top of the list too.

Fun fact, Tom Tupa made a Pro Bowl!

Gotta think about that one. It’s like the front office said, “Who is the worst QB out there? Let’s sign him!!

Kevin Kolb was pretty awful. Take snap, roll right, throw out of bounds or for a 2 yard gain. Almost every single passing play. And we sent a 2nd rounder to Philly for him.
