The answer is actually very simple.
In fact, its so basic that a lot of writers are missing it.
AT the time that STAT and Diaw came onto the court, there was NO FIGHT!!!!!
STAT and Dia came onto the floor as they saw Nash go flying into the scorer's table with possible serious injuries.
Their steps onto the court preceded the actions of Bell going in to confront Horry.
Their steps on the court preceded Nash coming up off of the floor and confronting Horry.
The wrong argument is one that we hear STAT stating today, i.e., that he was checking into the game. That is really crap and was a disastrous thing to say.
Keep it simple.
There was no fight at the time of the steps.
If the glove don't fit--you must acquit.
