No problem. We've all made mistakes like that.

If there is one stat that I hate more than any, it's total tackles. It's a deceiving stat. A player can easily lead the league in total tackles but it doesn't mean a hill of beans if every tackle results in a 5 yard gain. Good defenses force the other offense off the field resulting in less tackles.

For me it's all about the sum of the whole. Is the defender making tackles at or behind the LoS. Is the defender blowing up plays allowing his teammates to easily clean up. Is the defender creating turn overs. You could even throw in leadership and the ability to make defensive adjustments at the line.

If you look at Dansby and what he did for the Cardinals defense this past season you can pretty much check off all of my list. He was tops for ILB with sacks. He made tackles behind the LoS and was disruptive allowing his teammates to make plays as well. He was tops for ILBs with 4 INTs and could of had more. He was tops scoring 2 Defensive TDs. He was also a proven leader of the defense.

I agree. Remember when the Cardinals credited both Wrong Gap Ronnie (208) and Pat Tillman (224) with over 200 tackles in one season (2000) and WGR with 223 in 1999? Source: Arizona Cardinals Media Guide.

Your right...it wasn't a Pro-Bowl caliber year...which means he didn't win a popularity contest which is what the Pro-Bowl is.

But it was an ALL-PRO year, which is much more impressive to be named to on the 2nd team.

and I would agree that Dansby had an All Pro year.

More proof of no love as NFL.com lists top 101 FA and Los is "TIER 3: Starters with questions". Granted #40 isn't bad but he still has so many doubters outside of AZ.

"40) Karlos Dansby, LB Arizona Cardinals: It's hard to imagine Dansby replicating his success in most systems, but he was positively electric in Arizona last year."

Again to me that is a very good thing. If all of the other teams believe that he won't do as well outside of Arizona then that increases are chances of keeping him around here much much more.

Agred but this also could be the media and not the other teams view. Lets hope it is.

A little more evidence if you are keeping track. Here is what Polian says in his "C" grade in his Free Agent Tracker; "Age is a big factor in his evaluation but Dansby is big, tough and instinctive as a 3-4 ILB who can still show good burst to the ball. His long-distance speed is declining and thus he is more viable as a run-player than in coverage."

Have we ever had a LB play a better season than Dansby (the only guy I can think of from years back is E.J. Junior but he was not as a good as what Dansby did)... have we? Let's say we re-sign him and he is just pretty dang good and not great. Oh well, we still are doing pretty good. He is looking for his last contract right now, if we were Karlos we can understand that and if the Cardinals are only offering 2 years, then they have no clue on what a player would desire. Give him a three year contract, some money down and incentives for higher bucks. People might say it was a product of Washington playing next to him... well that goes both ways and Washington would excel too with Dansby back and have a damn good mentor in the process

If Polian thinks Los is a "C" player, he obviously didn't watch any Cardinal football last year :mulli: Imo he better get help for his drinking problem lol

As evidenced by Dansby's 19 passes defensed in 2013. Way to pay attention Polian.
