Because it's not. I personally think people just don't like Amare and overlook how important he is because they don't like him, he isn't all warm squishy like Barbosa, he isn't articulate like Nash, he isn't "tough" like Bell. What he is, is a guy who gets to the line in the playoffs and is devloping a midrange game to go along with a damn good face the basket inside game, but he is *****, he is on the cocky side and has tatoos and that turns off a lot of people. Then he gets nit picked until he sounds like a negative. While guys like Barbosa, have "potential." It's all typical fan BS. Reality is, you don't just trade guys like Amare for guys who used to be like Amare or any other guy like AL Jefferson for that matter.
Saying his ceiling is not as high as Garnett's counterdicts many NBA analysts who argue otherwise. He is already 1st team all NBA as a 6'10 center, he came back from Microfracture surgery to play all 82 gamers, he led the team in scoring in the playoffs at 3/4 the minutes and lack of touches he should have been playing and he is 24.
The guy is a stud, regardless of what one or two clouded opinions have to say. Let them stir in their hate, it will be sweeter when Amare brings this team a championship.
