Why not Manziel?

Hamilton is a football town, and the CFL generally isn’t a place for divas. It is a place where comebacks are celebrated, though: if Manziel plays with passion but without drama, a pretty proud fanbase may well adopt him.

But JF's problem is that he doesn't have the passion necessary to succeed. He was great in college. I guess it was the 2014 cotton bowl where he made the Sooner defense look like a bunch of eighth-graders chasing him around (it was embarrassing).

But he was getting by mostly on talent then, and now he's lost all the discipline he needs to be successful as professional. No passion = no motivation = no discipline.

I could be wrong, but I think he's just riding his college success to a few more paychecks. Maybe he'll make a few plays in CFL, maybe even have a few decent performances. But he's done as a starting NFL QB.

For his sake, I hope I'm wrong.

Yep, it’s a big IF. I’m not banking on it: seems more likely that he finds a way to insult the city, country, and league after a string of poor performances. We’ll see soon enough.

I got no issues with Canada. They gave us hockey and decent beer. Can't be mad at them.

maybe he should just stay up there and have a nice long career in the CFL

I kind of like redemption stories, you know when guys finally see the light, grow up and realize they are not bigger than the game. It'd be cool to see him go up there play well and have another shot in the NFL by the time he turns 30. Cleveland fans definitely don't want to see that (and probably rightfully so).

i just don't believe that he has 'finally seen the light', he is who he is.

I just want to let everyone know that camping across from us are a group of Québécois college students who are as nice and friendly as they come. The girls aren't hard on the eyes either. And they're roughing it camping in tents.

Really, who spends their day even contemplating hating Canada... if someone has discouraging words for Canada, they are also liable for bitching at the lawn watching grass grow in my opinion

As big tuna would say you are what you are. He's all talk and no action. at that level you don't just flip a switch 4 years after being drafted and say ok now I'm going to try for real. Vince Young tried that same BS more than once. great college QB's sometimes just don't have the mental toughness to transition to the NFL. you really have to have it upstairs just to have a chance because the body can only do so much at that level.

He does not have to flip a switch as you say because he cannot but he can grow and maybe after a few seasons become a professional on and off the field and still follow his dream as a pro :)

Considering this is what I believe camping to be, camping in tents is rouging it:

Actually, that pic was from a couple of years ago. That exact spot was where those kids were set up. We ended up across the way in what I call Redneck Row. This is in Myrtle Beach. We're about 20 yards from the beach here.
