Sadly Lutui walks. Keith will start RG (whereas he should be at RT). Levi should be very strongly pushed to give up his spot. But Deuce wasn't flawless till this year, so don't replace Levi out of hand.

I don't know I'd say Deuce has been flawless, but he has played well. And I'm not sure of his contract situation, but I don't see him walking. We have a strong emphasis on continuity on the line, and he has been a life long Cards fan (I remember he was ecstatic to be drafted to his team) and I would hope he would come back so long as the offer was reasonable.

Our overall lack of depth at cornerback and linebacker really make it difficult to address our issues at OT and QB. I would prefer to see 3 linebackers taken in this next draft, 2 taken in the first 2 rounds depending on who is there. We have issues at LB which is the reason for our poor pass defense. We lack athleticism and losing Dansby, who we can't afford to Franchise, won't help that.

how did our line not play well today? warner was just off, and the receivers weren't ready for the hot reads. not the lines fault. way to ignore beanie's 100 yard day behind that line also.

I would be happy if the only positions we drafted this year was OL and LB.

What do you guys think of Ricky Sapp? He could be a good OLB in the 3-4...

This is what I have been talking about:

3rd and 1 Detroit 40 run -3 yards
3rd and 1 Detroit 22 sack -8 yards
3rd and 1 Arizona 19 run zero yards

I would love McClain, but I think he will be long gone. Brandon Spikes is a more likely possibility.

I would love Black in the second round.

Why do you think Lutui walks? It's not like he's going to break the bank to keep and more than likely we'll see a change at LT. For all the talk about continuity on the line I don't think they're going to want to have that many changes in one offseason.
FA's get overpaid, especially when a team like the Redskins will pay premium price for the biggest "names" out there ('skins also desperately need OL depth). As the offseason approaches Deuce will generate some buzz and he'll get picked up by someone overwilling to pay.
Say what you want about Graves, he usually isn't highest bidder (which I think is good).

I do think the best thing is for Deuce to stay on the team and to get more guys more reps at tackle. (I really want Keith at RT for the record, even if that's not where he'll end up)

Prior to getting hurt Gandy has been pretty damn good. Have any of you ever had a hernia (not that I have-- just wondering if you have)?? I wouldn't be so quick to get rid of the guy.
Gandy struggles against speed rushers. He struggled mightly in the super bowl as well.

I'm still of the belief we need a solid NT as B-Rob is aging, Watson is streaky and Branch is playing much better as DE. I would love to see a monster like T.Cody fall to us..but I guess there's quite a few DT's that could be a good NT in a 3-4. I'll have to look at it more.

I'm also pretty impressed with Eric Norwood. I think he's gonna be a pretty solid OLB in our 3-4 but he seems to have the range and ability to be a decent ILB as well. A.J. Edds I also believe can make a fine ILB and could be a later round steal. This fella has a very high football IQ and natural ability.

How about BPA at just about any position. Yes I believe the O-line needs an upgrade. Yes I know that we need to add some LB's. A true NT would be great. Another DB with great cover skills is required.

Levi Brown was the last "need" pick the Cards have made. DRC and Beenie are STUDS.

Just draft another STUD in Round 1 and consider me happy.

NT is way down on the need list.

It has to be a combination of "stud" and "need"... Levi was a "need" and "stretch" combination.

I happen to think NT is a pretty pressing need at the present. Robinson is old and Watson is inconsistent. Branch has done nothing as a NT. Who else do we have to play NT? It is quite commonly considered as one of the most important positions in a 3-4 defense. And currently, none of our NT's require a double team. We actually get a NT that can push the pocket back and require a double team, its gonna make our LB's all the more effective. Quality LB's are commonly found outside the 1st round.
