Why was Wells drafted?

They're not going to use him as long as Whiz has his man crush on Hightower. I know this had zero effect on the game but when will start playing the more talented guy(s) over the lunch pail, marginally talented guys. What did Wells get , 4 carries? Ridiculous. To me, it'd be like the Vikings staring Chester Taylor over AP the last 2 years because he's more fundamentally sound. I'm not saying this had any impact on the game but why, why , why, does the better player not play? It drives me crazy, and no , it's not an OSU thing.

To steal Beerz's line, anyone who thinks TH is a better RB than Beanie doesn't know football.

I agree. Outside of Fitz, Beanie is the best offensive talent on the roster. At this point one of the only "special" talents we have active. The fact he gets about 10 snaps a game is an embarrassment.

Our offensive coaches and scheme right now is a total disaster.

It really annoyed me today we were basically dead before Beanie even got in the game, and it actually looked like he could run on them.

I'm really hoping if they got to Hall they decide to take a look at some other guys as well. Hadnot for Faneca, anybody for Keith, more of Beanie, Watson and Willams at NT etc.

Also I said it before the draft we need to get another SS because Wilson's getting old before our eyes. We need an heir apparent there for sure.

The more puzzling question should be why do we continue to constantly line up in 3 & 4 WR sets as if Warner is still on our roster. We've been doing it on a regular basis again this season despite having a Oline full of run blockers. Attention Wiz...run the rock & keep your porous defense off the field a little while!!!

He's supposed to be a FS though. We need a new SS. I wanted Taylor Mays who looked pretty good today(mixed results) in his first start, but I'm glad we got Williams we needed him too(Mays was gone before our next pick), now we just need to get him in shape.

Wilson can still play but he's basically a LB now.

I don't even know how you can say that given that he never gets a chance to play. There are very few backs in the league who could get into a groove and make big plays given the lack of consistent carries that the RBs get in this offense.

I would just once like to see Beanie be allowed to carry the balls 3-4 possessions in a row and get a solid 20-25 carries in a game. Lord knows that we have no passing attack.

It's not a talent problem; Wilson as a rookie couldn't cover anyone man-to-man, either. It's a scheme problem. Wilson doesn't even look like he's trying to cover these guys.

Troy Polamalu can't cover anyone one-on-one, either, but Dick LeBeau is clever enough to never puts him in a position to have to. We're playing Wilson essentially as an LB right now. Ware is the heir apparent, along with Hamza Abdulla.

Beanie is talked about around here like he is Barry Sanders. Which is ludicrous IMO.

He is good he has talent. But he has yet to show he is the game breaker people consistently refer to him as around here.

I disagree with this. Also, keep in mind that the Steelers run a primarily zone coverage scheme which is why he is generally not 1 on 1.

Maybe, but his salary prevents him from valuable. Besides, at the rate that he is playing now, we might be able to sing him next offseason.

Same with leinart we all thought finally this year we were gonna get to see if he could be the man, but no we have a hc that is making ridiculous decisions with none of them working out. Regardless of what anyone says, it would be interesting to see how the game would play out if they gave the ball to Beanie 25-30 times a game. It would be a totally different game, win or lose.
