Unlike most teams that play the Saints, our major focus is not figuring out how to stop them. We just have to out score them and we can.
I really think the Saints peaked a long time ago and this time off will be of some help but not enough. Go Cards!!
Thats my worry too. I feel like the New England game was our Superbowl.
However, we had to pull guys off the street to playing in our Defense the last 4 of the last 5 weeks of the season. I mean McKenzie was sitting at home playing XBox and so was McAllister. What is going to be a boost is having Porter & Greer back healthy for the first time in 1/2 a season which is going to allow Sharper to do his thing like roam the field, lay people out and make interceptions. (I do realize Sharper used to be known as a guy that couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat but he's really reinvented himself somehow this year.)
What also worries me is that Charles Grant is now on IR for the season. Although he was under performing we had to sign a DT off the street just to have enough to roll with at game time. We're probably going to have to slide McCray over to Grants spot and Hargrove over to McCray's spot. If you don't see a lot of blitz packages, that's probably going to be why.
I agree that Beanie makes me feel a lot better about this game. That and the passing over the middle we saw last game, and more specifically, the performances of Breaston and Doucet. Locking down Fitzgerald could be costly on any given play...
Of course, everything we showed last week, NO has shown this year as well. Could be a hell of game, between two great QBs who resurrected careers. A shame one of them will have to lose.

I see NO having a problem with our running attack, (and our O-line) if we push the run early. They may have to bring people up into the box to contain Beanie------then Kurt could have a field day.
My greatest concern is that we expended such a huge effort, (all across the board), against GB that the minds and the legs might still be suffering from the expenditure because of the short turn-around. It is going to be hard for some of those older guys to show up with fresh legs, and produce like they did against GB.
“We’ll play today if we needed to,” wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald said Monday. “It’s the playoffs. It doesn’t matter where you’re playing, what time you’re playing, what day you’re playing, you suck it up.”
the saints have been off for two weeks. prior to that they lost the previous three games. know what that means? the saints haven't WON a game in 5 weeks. in my opinion, that will take a toll on that team. not difficult to forget how to win.
and 2) When did you buy a keyboard with a "shift" key?

Lets be careful not to becomes mirrors of the cocky packers fans of last week. The Saints are still a fantastic team and Drew Brees has had a superb year. I would personally pick the winner of this game to go to the Super Bowl, but we will see.
The biggest issue I see w/ the Saints is MOMENTUM! They have none. They're coming off of a 3 game losing streak, that could have easily been a 5 game losing streak, & they will have had 2 weeks of inactivity in game situations. When it comes to the playoffs, perhaps the most important thing is momentum & timing. The Saints may just be lacking in both areas, albeit they will be healthier.
But there again, their guys that are now healthy have been inactive in game situations for some time now. Doug may be able to tell you how hard it is to just flick the switch on after long layoffs, especially in pressure packed playoffs. It's both a mental & physical thing.
Time will tell, but I have to like our chances. BTW, even though this is a short week, should we win, we'll have an extra day before the NFC championship game to prepare for.

Amen. I'm seeing a tough game & matchup, although I think getting a W in a tough emotional game like last week gives this team confidence.
My primary concern is exhaustion, especially on defense. This game will tell us if our golden knight John Lott is what some people think he is.
