I think it will. And, I think we have a better chance of going 8 - 8 with WB K Warner...... today. The Cardinals have 2 tough home games coming...Buffalo and Dallas. Lets talk Warner/Leinart after that, at the earliest.

Winning the division at 8-8 means that we haven't improved as a team, but rather our division has regressed. I guess going to the playoffs would be a nice consolation, but it would just feel weird hosting a playoff game against a team with 2 or 3 more wins than us.

Thats not particularly true. Our schedule is much more brutal this year NO DOUBT. You could still have the same record as teh previous year and be a better team.

The 2006 Cardinals in baseball had the WORST record...

going into the Play-Offs!! ...And WON the World Series!! Did I enjoy it any less? NO!!! Wild-Card teams have made it to the play-offs in football! ...And WON!! Suppose, we WIN the WEST, and Kurt & the O get red-hot for (2) games?? Hey, I've been around long enough to know ANYTHING is POSSIBLE!! Get to the Play-Offs...And it might get VERY interesting!! GO CARDS!!

True. Going up against the NFC East and AFC East is brutal. Next two weeks are going to be really tough. Might be the toughest two game stretch of the season for us. We will really need that bye week afterwards win or lose.

Yup! And that's from two angles. One, we get the NFC East, quite possibly the best division in the NFL. Two, for a west coast team, we get FIVE games in the eastern time zone out of eight road games. Any way you spin it, this schedule is much tougher than last season.

If Whis and the team get their mojo back, the division is very winnable IMO. Winning at least one of the next two is probably necessary though. OTOH, there is no way to reach the playoffs without winning the division. The NFC East is likely to send three teams IMO.

Agreed NSDF. While I'd be embarrassed initially, once the ball kicks off, everyones 0-0 any way.

Honestly, if there were a three way tie at 7-9 I wouldn't be shocked.

if we make the playoffs at 8-8 or 7-9 in this division the team should do the right thing and not show up to the playoff game.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd gladly take a home playoff game at any record.

We'll show up and get smoked. You don't go at least 9-7 they don't deserve to go.

So what. It is extra revenue for the team. And it means that we are actually IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!

Wouldn't you like to use some of that extra revenue to resign Boldin/Dansby?

I bet you can't tell me no.

I hope you don't teach your kids such lessons. Quiting. not living up to your obligations, and letting other people down (us fans) is the "right" thing to do.:thumbdown

That's pretty optimistic for a team without any receivers who crumbled at home to the 49ers.

Engram is supposed to be back this week. Branch should be back soon too. Don't sleep on the Hawks they are only 1 game back of us and have proven they actually know how to finish a season above .500.
