Jrue is a much better fit (at least in theory) than Russell, but Russell is starting to become a star (which means he's probably not leaving Brooklyn). Lonzo is also a better fit than Russell, but he comes with some serious concerns as well.

All three are much, much better options than what we have been putting on the court the last couple years.

Yeah Holiday should be the number one target now that AD says he wants to walk.

Walker has flat out said he wants to stay in Charlotte.

Yes he has, several times and while he can make quite a bit more staying there, I believe he wants to stay for other reasons too. The problem will be whether Charlotte is willing to max him out as he will turn 29 before they can sign him this July. The Hornets can give him a 5 year deal worth 188 million, other teams are limited to a 4 year, 139 million dollar offer.

I just did the simulation on tankathon and we moved from 3 to 7. Was it possible to drop 4 spots in the old lottery system?

Ya I believe the best odds to win in the old system could fall as far as 5 so 4 spots was like the max for that instance

They aren't going to fall to 7 though ( if they are tied for the best odds) you got a extremely unlikely scenario for that simulation

In the old system the worst team could fall no further than the 4 spot. The 3 top spots were drawn, and then it went by record. Now, the top 4 are drawn and then they go by record. The percentages have all changed too to even the odds out a bit.

There is a 7% chance of falling from 3 to 7. The top 3 teams have equal odds of getting the top pick, but the team with the worst record can fall no further than 5 while the third worst record has a 7% chance of going to 7.

I find it amazing that we actually do NOT have the worst record in the league! Not even the 2nd worst.

What's even more amazing is that the Cavs and Bulls have a worse point differential than we do. As someone who has watched a lot of the Suns this season, it's hard to fathom that's even possible!

That's what I mean about unlikely, in order to fall to 7 from 3 all three teams with the best odds would have to fall out of the top 4, that won't happen

I mean...7% is a legitimate chance. It's exactly half as likely as getting the #1 overall pick if the Suns are in 3rd place.

Well ya it can, but them falling 4 spots is literally the least likely outcome possible for any team , I doubt any tanking team is worried about that kind of slide

Honestly, I don't see much difference between picking 4th and picking 7th this year. Of course, that can change, but anything short of a top 3 (maybe 2) pick is probably going to feel like a big loss.

Williamson is the hope and prayer for any tanking team.

I'm really high on Morant.

Barrett should at least offer legit trade value.

After that, you're just hoping some prospects start to emerge or at least get more hype.

Ya can't agree with you more , im worried they don't get a top 3 which is what they will need to get Zion or morant , I'm not that high on Barret right now though, the talent is there but his play this year hasnt been overly impressive to me, he just seems to have a ball hog mentality and tunnel vision while driving in

I can't see Russel being traded. I'm with you about Terry. I wonder if Sarver wants to spend the money on Holiday.

I guess this leave us with Ball. :hairraise

And when Ball returns to L.A. in 2 years and Booker asks out, followed by Ayton, the total destruction of this franchise will be complete.

Just say no to Ball and Rozier.

I've been thinking about it more and let's get Jrue Holiday if we can.

He is proven and the Suns will not have to worry about his contract situation for awhile.

This is exactly what the team needs. Put everything on the table accept Ayton and Booker and get it done.

Suns #1 (2-7), Bucks pick, TJ and anyone else not named Booker or Ayton.

that is way too much

Holiday is turning 29 and makes 26M$

Giving up TJ Warren a likely top 5 pick and another top 7 protected pick for Holiday is absurd.

A top 5 pick alone should be able to get you a borderline allstar, this pick could easily be #2 or #3.

You just described Holiday.

I'm not sure what the trade package for Holiday would look like but he has two more seasons under contract for around $26 million each but the third season is a team option for about $27 million. So it's not like the Suns hands are tied past 30.

Correction: That is a player option. So the Suns might need to keep him until 31 if he picks up his option.

Is 31 that old anymore?

The suns are in the dumpster. They need to stop worrying about cost, or what the negatives could be and make a "big" move that gets the team back to winning some games.

If Igor is so awesome and the need for a PG is so huge, make the move. Even if it costs more than you want to pay.

This playing it safe BS, drafting a guy, hoping he will be the missing piece in 2 to 3 years is not working.

Making the wrong move could absolutely be a lot worse then making no move at all. And giving away the farm for a player who is only going to make us a little better sounds like a really bad move. You hate the hell we're in so your answer is to give away enough assets to insure we'll be stuck in that hell for a long time? I don't get it. And the time to stop worrying about the negatives when considering a trade is never, if that soon.

And the jury is still out on Koko for many of us, I don't know that anyone has touted him as awesome. Almost all the positive in-season comments about him have come as a result of a half dozen posters blaming him for everything. I like the defense we've played at times under him, it's the best I've ever seen from a Suns team. But for all we know that could have more to do with an assistant and even if it's all Koko, we've yet to see it consistently. So I don't know what he is, I just know we've given him a raw deal with this roster.

Oh they will have to overpay either way. the trick is choosing who they want to overpay vs. overpaying the first person who becomes available.

TJ/fillers and our pick top-1 protected or Anderson and our unprotected pick.
