I so agree. But we know how this franchise operates. Why should we really believe this year will be different? When have we EVER signed one of the top 3 free agents? Never.

We are all psyched up but I doubt we see anything happen that we would consider major.
Unless, of course, you have some inside info Harry! LOL!

I agree. Sometimes you have to examine the players around him. Carter certainly helped Williams situation.

You don't even have to do that really. Yeah it's a factor for sure, but just look at Williams in isolation and you see a guy with 11.5 career sacks and 25 career TFLs.

Not really a yes or no question IMO. Much depends on who else they can sign. I think they critically need to sign a DT or Edge in Free Agency to set up the draft. Williams would certainly be a target with whom they will speak. However, they might prioritize Sweat. The bottom line is they need to come out of Free Agency with an impact player, not just bodies. Can they get multiple players? They have the money, but they need to discover who would come to AZ? I think they need to hit early and hard.
Well put.

That's a problem because no one thinks that this free agency period has any impact players. Milton is a significantly worse acquisition than Christian Wilkins was last year.

I don’t dwell on things I can’t change. These are the people in play. Among this group he stands out in performance and potential.

I usually have pretty black and white opinions on this team, especially in FA. On this one, I am not at all sure. My head and gut tell me he's a really good player, but also tell me he's a product of the talent around him.
I agree. If we sign Williams, who is playing next to him. A rookie DT? Nichols?
If we sign Williams it screams we are going edge in the draft. If we sign Sweat it appear we go DT.
I wonder what is Darius Robinsons role and position on this defense.

I just don’t understand how people think he’s a difference maker based on anything other than the most recent game they saw.

He was their fourth or fifth best defensive lineman, y’all.
agree. He’d be this years Jordan Phillips

I hope we don't sign Williams or Sweat. Teams always overpay for superbowl champ players that have a good game that day. We have to evaluate based on all their past games. My opinion we should go cheaper and get a Wharton from KC for DT, then spend the money for Hendrickson. We have DT pretty well in place with Robinson and Wharton. For MLB, I think we move Collins back there and draft the best DE we can get this year. So we have Hendrickson, BJ Ojawari and high draft pick for DE.

JG was there when they drafted Milton and coached him for two years.

I am good with whatever JG decided on him, Sweat, and Reddick.
I would rather get Sweat or Milton. I just didn't like what I saw from Reddick when he played against us last year. Actually I did like it because he was a ghost and we kicked the Jets ass.

read the whole thread -- Johnny V makes it sound like Williams is the team's no 1 target -- with some bonus Hendrickson info

it sure sounds like Johnny V has sources. I guess we will find out if he does

Self aware decision on his part. He will probably look pretty good next to Brown.

I love how you're positioning this how there's no chance we make a mistake or lose on a FA.

We sign him to big money: JG must really believe in this guy!
We sign him to a small deal: He must love JG to come here at a discount!
He signs elsewhere: No one knows him better than JG! Must have been overpriced!

Not the intention. My point was if JG wants him, I want him as well.
I am saying the same thing on any of the players he coached.

We may have wanted him and got outbid or he didn't want to be here.
