No, why would they change their routine. I think they will surprise everyone and choose a RB to replace what I project to be a seriously injured Beanie Wells.

Looking ahead to the 2013 NFL Draft:

1. Matt Barkley, USC, QB: After bypassing an opportunity to enter the draft as a likely top-10 pick a season ago, Barkley is listed atop most draft boards as the No. 1 senior prospect. He has shown the ability to masterfully orchestrate a pro-style offense that puts a lot of responsibility on the quarterback at the line, but he needs to continue honing his throwing mechanics and arm strength to solidify his status as the potential No.1 pick. Let the bidding begin!

2. Marcus Lattimore*, South Carolina, RB: How well Lattimore recovers from his season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury will ultimately determine his status as one of college football's top players. Evaluators are certainly impressed with his combination of size, strength and power. He bulls through defenders between the tackles, but also displays the burst to take it the distance on perimeter runs.

3. Robert Woods*, USC, WR: The Trojans have routinely featured some of the country's top receivers, and Woods is certainly carrying on the tradition with his extraordinary performance. He has dominated the Pac-12 over the past two seasons, and few receivers can rival his extraordinary ball skills. With the increased prominence of the passing game in the NFL, scouts will keep an eye on Woods' development over the next few years.

4. Jarvis Jones*, Georgia, OLB: Jones is the most dynamic pass rusher in college football. He possesses explosive first-step quickness and burst, and flashes the balance and body control needed to blow past blockers around the corner. While he is still learning the finer points of the position in pass coverage, Jones' ability to completely dominate the game as a pass rusher makes him a valued commodity in the eyes of evaluators.

5. Landry Jones, Oklahoma, QB: Jones was pegged as a potential first-round pick a year ago, but wisely elected to return to college to refine a few aspects of his game. He struggled with some of his decisions under pressure in 2011 and didn't display consistent accuracy or ball placement. Although those deficiencies have prompted scouts to downgrade him a bit, Jones is an undeniable A-list talent capable of vaulting to the top of the list by the end of next season.

6. Manti Te'o, Notre Dame, ILB: Inside linebackers aren't routinely valued at a premium, given the proliferation of the passing game at the pro level, but Te'o is a special player with extraordinary skills. He is athletic enough to roam freely from sideline to sideline against the run or pass while also providing a stout presence within the box. Given his unique skills and versatility, Te'o could emerge as a blue-chip talent by season's end.

7. Ricky Wagner, Wisconsin, OT: The Badgers traditionally feature big, physical offensive tackles with solid technical skills. Wagner certainly fits that mold and shines on the outside in isolated matchups. Although he still needs to clean up some of the rough patches in his game, Wagner is a franchise-caliber offensive tackle to keep an eye on in 2012.

8. Alex Okafor, Texas, DE: It's hard to find long, rangy edge defenders adept at playing the run and pass, but Okafor shows signs of being a special player. He excels at utilizing his length and athleticism to defeat blockers at the point of attack, and his remarkable closing burst allows him to hunt down quarterbacks from the backside. He also displays a non-stop motor that allows him to win consistently with energy and effort.

9. David Amerson*, North Carolina State, CB: Big, athletic corners with the instincts and movement skills to excel in "off" coverage are rare, but Amerson is looking like the exception to the rule after putting on a spectacular showing as a sophomore. He picked off 11 passes in 2011 and displayed game-changing skills that put the Wolfpack star square in the sights of evaluators.

10. Sam Montgomery*, LSU, DE/OLB: Montgomery is a pass-rushing specialist with explosive first-step quickness and burst. He shows the ability to bend and burst around the corner with balance and body control, but needs to continue to expand his pass-rush repertoire. If he can do that while also improving as a run defender, Montgomery could develop into a difference-maker that NFL coaches covet in a few years.

11. Star Lotulelei, Utah, DT
12. Johnthan Banks, Mississippi State, CB
13. Kawann Short, Purdue, DT
14. Oday Aboushi, Virginia, OT
15. Tyrann Mathieu*, LSU, CB
16. John Simon, Ohio State, DE
17. Tyler Wilson, Arkansas, QB
18. Montee Ball, Wisconsin, RB
19. Dion Jordan, Oregon, DE
20. Terrance Williams, Baylor, WR

21. Jackson Jeffcoat*, Texas, DE
22. Kevin Reddick, North Carolina, ILB
23. T.J. McDonald, USC, S
24. Geno Smith, West Virginia, QB
25. Ray Ray Armstrong, Miami, S
26. Keenan Allen*, Cal, WR
27. Christine Michael, Texas A&M, RB
28. Joseph Fauria, UCLA, TE
29. Johnny Adams, Michigan State, CB
30. EJ Manuel, Florida State, QB

Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised to see our hand forced to look at a QB early next year.

I hope I'm really wrong and Kolb or Skelton distinguishes himself. If that's the case I'd expect the cards to go BPA...but a lot can happen between now and next April. It's way too early for this to be anything but a guessing game.

I dont know any of the talent in next years draft, but generally speaking, I see RB.

Beanie and Ryan are just too injury prone. Its never going to change. Beanie, his entire career with the cards hes been sidelined at some point. Ryan had a long history of injuries back in his VT days and it seems to have continued into the NFL. Neither have the ability to stay healthy enough to be full time backs.

Next choice would be Oline. Just because hes taking a lower paycheck doesnt mean the LEvi problem has gone away. He played better at the end of last year, but thats not saying much since the guy is awful. DJ FLuker, LT, Bama, seems like an obvious choice.

There seems to be a pretty abundant supply of pass rushers, particularly DE/LB converts. IF OBS doesnt have a big year, I can easily see the cardinals going pass rusher. Looks like theres some good talent in there.

ILB, specifically Manti Teo' would be a great pick. Thatd create a heck of a young LB corps if we got him. A fundamentals guy, very much like Luke Kuechly, will get you a ton of good play tackles. Line him up with a playmaker like Washington and wed have a formidable run defense.

I dont see QB just because I dont see the talent there. Unless we have the 1st overall pick, which would preclude an abysmal season, we arent getting Mtt Barkley. After him the choice would be Landry, who just isnt an elite QB. Hed be a burn of a pick. Much rather stick with Skelton until a legit QB prospect is there, someday.

I'm thinking we'd go ILB. I like the idea of our LB corp getting younger, faster. He probably wouldn't play right away though.
I'm really hoping that we don't need to pick QB, I am hoping that we find a good starter somewhere between Kolb and Skelton or even Lindley. I think we are pretty solid at RB, hopefully having the carries split between Beanie, Williams and LSH.
Of course, OL could be an option, I don't see it though.
We could go safety too, Rashad doesn't seem to be one we'd like to keep, Adub is nearing the end of his career, hopefully Kerry will stay but who knows.

I'm thinking we'll go with BPA. This strategy seems to be working for us so far.
In the 2nd and subsequent rounds we'll address our perceived needs based on the 2012 season performances.

Me too. Especially since we will be picking 32nd. That's a great spot to pick up a young stud ILB to complement Washington.

2nd choice would be a Safety since it looks like there are several safeties that would be BPA at 32 and Wilson isn't getting younger or Rashad any better.

Hey Cbus what do you think about Nathan Williams? Knee a problem?

I expect the Cards to end up about 7-9, which would put us in the perfect place to select Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkanasas.

I think an OLB will be our '13 pick. Acho and Scho will play well, but we need depth. I think Bradley earns the spot next to Washington. Safety is another position we need to address soon, AW is getting old. I don't think we'll finish bad enough to have a shot at a game-changer QB. I actually expect Beanie to have a productive year splitting time with Williams, it should keep him healthy

Since the Cardinals haven't drafted the way I thought they would for years, they will do exactly opposite of what I am about to post. I see defense early and often. First round should be either a linebacker or a safety. Manti Teo or a passrushing OLB in the first and a safety in the second round or visa versa and two d-linemen after that.

Now after saying that they will draft an O-lineman first, a WR second and a QB third.

HIs knee is a big problem. I believe he had micro-fracture surgery on it. He's been pretty injury prone his entire career at OSU. He's talented and plays hard but I think he'll probably be a late round pick because of the injuries.

As for the poll, there is no poll. I've already made Tyler Wilson the Cards pick. He's the only choice :D.

I think I'll wait to answer this poll when you add BPA and it gets a little closer to the draft, or at least wait until the season starts.

Who honestly thought before the 2010 season we'd select a cornerback with our first pick the following season?

Who honestly thought before the 2011 season we'd select a wideout with our first pick the following season?

I think the eve of this previous draft, people were convinced an offensive lineman like DeCastro or Reiff would be the selection.

It goes to show that this front office subscribes to the BPA philosophy, which is why it is way too early to guess one way or another. The only possible scenario I see playing out would be if both Kolb and Skelton show no hope and the team completely tanks. Then in all likelihood, we're looking at Barkley or Jones at QB.

To early to say but you can take LB's IMO 0ff the list if they couldn't pick one this year when the BPA was a LB they won't take one next year my guess another WR this time a speed guy because we really like are other options but they can't get the seperation we need to have a big play offense, man I'm still bitter over the Floyd pick I sure hope he proves me wrong.

I'm guessing you were looking for a Melvin Ingram, rather?

I can not believe this but i agree with thesmel...

The cardinals have stopped drafting for need why would they change that now? Imo this is a worthless thread. We added picks and vets to the OLine. We don't even know what we have now. How can we judge if its a need or not.

There is a current assault on the BPA theory as both Green Bay and New England went heavy on defense in the last draft. The area where both teams were weak.

The new conventional wisdom is that you attack the weaknesses in your team in the draft wholesale. Quite a change from drafting for the future. Are they right or wrong I don't know but I do know that in 2001 the St.Louis Rams completely overhauled their defense and went from 31st in points allowed to 7th.

Totally agree with you agreeing with Smel. Until we see how this year plays out we don't know. Too early. It's one of those we're-all-bored threads so let's pick a scab.

Even if he ever becomes a decent starting WR, we still picked him way to high. But that is why the Cards will remain a team that dreams of making the playoffs one day. To reach for a WR who isn't that fast, doesn't run routes well, and you have no intention of making a #1 receiver, when you aren't even sure you have a QB yet, is nonsensical. It's just not what great coaches/gms would do!

When your as close to a SB as Rodgers & Brady, I think drafting to fill your weakest part of your team make alot more sense.

But that is why the Cards will remain a team that dreams of making the playoffs one day. To reach for a WR (BPA a reach?) who isn't that fast (Faster than Fitz, who seems to be an ok WR still), doesn't run routes well (That can be taught), and you have no intention of making a #1 receiver(Injury's happen) , when you aren't even sure you have a QB yet, is nonsensical(So dont draft someone who can help your QB improve?). It's just not what great coaches/gms would do!
