if you look at the picture long enough, I can see an evil looking goat lurking in she shapes of the kid trying to lure in the ball. LOL

just kidding, if you look at it carefully, it looks like some girl behind the boy is trying to hold the boys arm back so Alou can make the catch.

I think Moises would have got it. I think the girl knew that, you can almost see her face almost with fear thinking that the ball is playable.

looking at it more carefully, the ball was playable, you can see the way the girl is trying to hold his hand back!! you can see it in her body language that the ball could have been caught, she knew it.

by the way, do you see somekind of ghastly figure on the boys black shirt??

He needed a police escort out of the game.

He was having all sorts of trash thrown at him, including beer bottles.

He covered his head with his jacket.

I don't know if I would be able to sleep tonight if I were him.

That just sucks.

:(

He didn't cost them the game, and he wasn't the only fan reaching. The Cubs did just enough to lose it to a never-say-die Marlins team.

Besides - the Cubs had the podium and NLCS trophy all set up and the lockers wrapped in plastic, champagne was in the clubhouse, all before the lethal 8-run (yes, EIGHT- run :D ) inning -- that's flirting with disaster. Baseball gods don't appreciate that kind of "game over" arrogance. Ask George.

what's even worse is

the fact that his name, where he works, and everything else about him was posted on the web.

free speech i guess

now, if he doesn't get firebombed from some chicago nutjob who can't stand the fact that they lost.

yea, the fan cost em the game, not the 8 run fish inning. yea right.

It was fun for a day but I really feel bad for this guy. Even though he did not lose the series he will have to live that play for the rest of his life.

I really don't know how he will be able to live in the Chicago area. I just hope he can mentally handle all of this.

I agree with Gracie, who said that the fan will need to move away from Chicago. Although nearly everyone understands and sympathizes... all it takes is one loonie to do the unthinkable. Best to re-locate.

Oh man if that were the diamondbacks, or I was a cubs fan I think I would have killed myself by now. Tough loss, but if you want to blame someone blame Alex S Gonzalez, not the fan.

ESPN Sportcenter thought they were talking via the phone to Mr Bartman and when asked the question "Can you stay in Chicago?" The caller mumbled something and Dan Patrick looked down and with red face said we've been had. :stupid:

Captain Janks, a prank-caller "fan" of Howard Stern was the one. He acted like Bartman for a few minutes, then asked Dan Patrick "Do you like Howard Stern's Butt-Cheese?".

Patrick looked stunned. Then, he had a smirk. He just said, we've been had.

It was classic. I about dropped my jaw as I was doing office work at the same time.

BTW, what's happening to Bartman is total horsesh**. He didn't even cross the "imaginary" line. That ball was fair game.

People need to lighten up. This Bartman kid is living with enough guilt. It's not like he robbed a bank or something.

The media just perpetuates this by camping out in his front yard and reporting on it every second of the day.

How many of you would have put your hands up? I would have. I'm not going to let the ball hit me in the face.

If you want a whipping boy, Alex Gonzalez is the one.

Man, poor guy. Hes going to have to move now, since all the local radio stations in Chicago gave out his address. Poor guy. I was reading his apoligy and now I feel really bad for him. Part of it said " Im sorry from the bottom of my broken heart". Poor guy, He wasnt the only one reaching for it!
