ESPN says everyone's favorite retired RB has been talking with Nick Saban for weeks and is seriously interested in coming back. He apparently can't unretire until July, and would have to face a 4 game suspension, but they think he'll otherwise be cleared to play.

Considering they took Ronnie Brown in the first round I'm not sure why they would welcome him back, trade bait? Maybe Brown will be a part time player in the NFL too. :D

Because the Dolphins suck so bad and will suck for a few more years. They may have drafted Brown, but he is just that, a rookie. He ( Ricky )probably came to an agreement with Saban where he wouldn't have to carry the ball 400 times per season. No matter what people thibnk about William's private life, he is their best running back.

BTW, tthe Dolphins under Waanstedt, Spielman, Eddie Jones and that raggedy assed coaching staff were totally inept. Ricky walking out on the Dolphins wasn't the cause for their demise. Oh BTW, Boston is coming back also. Very interesting.

Actually I agree, Ricky healthy and in shape is better than Ronnie Brown, just find it odd that they said these talks have been going for weeks and yet they still took Brown that high?

I guess they have to hedge their bet, can't rely on Ricky to stay too long.

I don't fault Ricky by the way, he was being used as a sacrificial ram(not lamb) and nobody could have held up for too long in the situation he was in. I just think it's odd that they took Brown and now want to bring Ricky back, they'll have 2 good RB's but they're going to pay one of them an awful lot to be a backup, unless Ricky is coming back in a "plea bargain" to avoid that 8.6 million payback.

If you look at the Miami offense, it is in total disarray. They have no depth or quality at RB. Now they have Brown to break in and desperately need Williams for this year and next. Basically rookie RBs suck. Last year was the year of the WR and Miami took none. That made no sense. That was the old regime. This year is the draft was loaded with quality RBs. The Dolphins taking one made good sense. That is the difference between the new regime and the old. The old one didn't take advantage of draft quality.

Check out what Rams did with Faulk and Jackson. Probably didn't make as much sense last year to take a RB on paper, but the Rams just announced that Jackson is the primary back. The Dolphins could do the same with Brown. Ease him in. Based on his part time career at Auburn, he is not used to 300 carries. The Dolphins haven''t drafted a quality RB since Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris.

Remember the Dolphins other #1 RB picks. John Avery? Sammie Smith ? :biglaugh:

It's to bad they need this a---hole. He gave the finger to the fans, friends and especially to his team. This is a guy that should have to pay his way back and should be suspeneded for at least four games if not his first season for doing what he did. I'm not a fan of this jerk nor IMO should 72,000 screaming fans saying that's okay he is back.

Ottis Anderson was a pretty good rookie RB. They can pick it up faster than other positions as someone else pointed out.

Agreed sees. You have to wonder about the mental state of a guy who flip flops as much as this loser. I'd want no part of him. What do you do when he quits on you again??

That's nice. And I always wanted to be a cowboy.

Riding on the range,
I've got my hat - on,
I've got my boots - dusty.

I've got my saddle
On my horse.
He's called....T-t-t-t-t-trigger
Of course.

Yippie yippie yay, Yippie yo yo yo.
