There really are a lot of "fairweather" fans in this so called "fan club"..........
and none worse than cheesebeef.

also - I'd like for you to try and detail how this sentence make any sense in regards to me. I'm curious - how am I a fairweather fan?

Yeah Wilson is definitely on a tear this year. Glad to see it. I agree with Arthur that hopefully he will continue to improve and wrap up on tackles. I do have a small concern that he is only playing at this heretofore unseen height because it is his contract year. Hope this fear goes unfounded.

Agree

Wilson is playing up and becoming a dominant force. He's not just looking for the kill anymore, he's playing solid football.
I also agree on Pace, I think He's starting to "get it".
I also agree on Stone. He may be only playing in ST and situational play, but it appears, he's in on alot of plays.

We need a core of 10 (or 12) players signed long term. I got to believe Wilson will be 1 of them.

I have a hard time coming up with 10 though. I guess I am a fairweather fan as well.

Macklin; B.Johnson; McCown; Rackers; Hodel; Hayes......all of these are integral to to the ultimate success this team may enjoy. And I'm not giving up on Wendall Bryant yet either.

I put Davis, I missed B. Johnson and Macklin, I like Rackers and Hayes. Hodel? Replacable player with a minimal role. I like McCown but if he can't figure out how to make this team score Touchdowns I wouldn't put him in the core.

I won't give you W. Bryant yet. Once he comes back and actually shows something then ok. As of right now I could do without the guy.

I'd be curious to go thru archived threads just to see how many of you were calling for his head earlier this year, last year and the year before.

I most definitely called for his head. I outright called him a ******* on several occasions. The reason is because he was a ******* on the field last year. He got beat several times for either being out of position, blowing an assignment, or kicking a player in the facemask

Wilson was a *******. He sucked last year. He was a 1-trick pony that could only hit. Now, the light seems to have come on for him under Green and Pendergast and he's become a real player. A damn good one too. He's always had the physical attributes, but now that he's getting the mental part of the game, you're seeing him make plays. Game changing plays like the interception last week, or the one-handed deflection in the endzone. Had that been last year's Adrian Wilson back there, it would've been a TD for Atlanta.

He's developing nicely, and he needs to be re-signed long-term. He's a true asset to the defense.

Hodel - replaceable ? That I understand - there are about 45 guys on THIS team that are replaceable.

Hodel - minimal role ? The Cards have one of the top 6 to 10 LS in the league in Hodel so I do not know that he is that easily replaced. The crop of LS in last years and 2005 draft are all rated weak. Why keep Rackers if you are willing to breakup the kicking unit? Rackers was a mediocre kicker at Cincy and now that he and Hodel have been reunited his transformation is evident. Why breakup a kicking unit that has been together for 6 or 7 years and doing well.

Hodel is pretty importatnt and is not expensive. He can be had for near the vet min. He has never screwed up a long snap. Remember that Giants-49ers game?
