One other thing to consider is he gives us another great slot option with Doucet. Both of those guys will be taking hits and, unfortunately dealing with injury. We have seen it with Boldin, and with Doucet already. Guys who play to contact often end up dinged up, now if Doucet is hurt we have another tough slot guy to slide right in at 3. We have managed to get some redundancy at an oft-injured position, and that is something I really like.

Wow. After reading that I wouldn't bet against the kid being in the NFL for the next ten years. If he is as hard a worker as it sounds, he could be a real weapon for us next year an beyond.

I think one of the other reasons he was drafted was his familiarity running the Wildcat. With Rolle and Boldin gone, I look for Roberts to be the primary weapon from that formation.

The more I read and see about this kid the more excited I am. His impact this season between Special Teams and Offense combined will be significant.

Not sure why but his highlights look great to me. I know highlights tend to do that. But he seems like a play maker to me.

I have to be honest, I dont like what I see on film of Washington at all. Hope I am wrong.

If you are using the same source I am, its likely because all of the youtube clips on Washington are "Highlights/Lowlights" packages, so instead of just seeing the good, your seeing some of his less then stellar moments as well. That would effectyour perception of anyone, including Michael Jordan.

Roberts is a better return man than both. I've never been all that impressed with Gilyard, or Tate for that matter. Michael Floyd, when he comes out, is the WR you want from ND.

Damn Cbus...... this post was from 2 years ago. lol

Essentially we traded Anquan Boldin and a #7 for Andre Roberts.

#5 for Kerry Rhodes
#2+#3 for Darryl Washington

Looks like a steal to me when you package all of those together.

He's come a long way for a guy who couldn't even catch punts in training camp as a rookie.

I'd still rather have Q. Roberts is nothing special and Boldin is a GAM.

:stick:

Sorry it's a short week so I have to start early. :p

Roberts could easily end up being a bust pick, but he has the ability to fill several needs that the Cardinals have which is why they grabbed him when they did. The single most important aspect that Roberts needs to bring to the Cardinals is being a threat in the punt return game. If he can do that, as well as lock down the 4th wide receiver spot, as I expect him to, he will be a fantastic value pick. Not to mention other possible contributions to special teams, and insurance down the line with Breaston's contract situation coming up. If not, he could end up being very average and a wasted pick.

Hot trash as a punt returner but has developed into a quality wide receiver. Good pick Cardinals.
