As much as I loved the win at the time, I’m really hating that victory over the Raiders.

$22m (dead money), and we gain $8m (his salary) under the Cap.

And if, like Watts, they can split the 'dead' money over two business years, they could add another $11m to the available Cap in 2023.
You're right. I was thinking of his total cap charge, when I said 30M

Can't they only do the split post June 1?

Yes. But I'm not sure you can if they trade DHop. They split JJ's but this is a retirement.

If they can, then the $11m added post-June 1st would pay for the draft class that I read somewhere will come in at about $7m and leave Cap space to cover the P.S. etc.

Might not be bad if we can get multiple picks and then proceed to upgrade the OL/DL with the added picks, though I would not want to draft him if he was our sole pick in the first
Why he will be the rookie of the year on offense. Then no one will care what pick he was drafted.

I would take Emmanuel Forbes in second round if he is on the board. Ball hawk in every sense of the word.

I figure either Myles Murphy or Brian Barese is the 1st rounder depending on if we pick #5 or later in a trade down.

I'm not enamored with Edge outside round 1.

We should take a stud high or role with Sanders and Thomas and pick up a depth guy later to develop. I'm not sure any edge we take in round 2 are better than year 2 Sanders and Thomas.

I'd like to draft DL/Edge and OL with the first two picks, but you never know who is going to be there.

I'm not enamored with the OL class overall at the top of the first. I'd consider Skoronski, but on a trade down and I'd want to add significant picks if the Cardinals went that route.

That is my hope. Trade down with the Raiders and take Skoronski to start at guard and eventually move to tackle. Bank a bunch of picks.

Passing on a elite Pass-rushing prospect only to draft a Guard after going ILB, ILB, & TE with our first picks in previous years will definitely make me sure Keim is still making the picks.

I value both side of the trenches equally. If I can get a future 1st and a current 3rd to protect Kyler I am good with it.

It's a tough move to make with two potential elite defenders on the board.

I've been watching the draft for years and the Cardinals haven't had too many great shots at getting a player on defense the caliber of Anderson/Carter.

Bosa was the last time..and in some ways I actually like Anderson more. Carter just absolutely abused single blocks and busts doubles with ease.

If the Cardinals trade down, it better be for a butt load of picks if either player is on the board.

I'm with you, but people are saying this draft is unusually deep. Trade down is a gamble with a big payoff potential.

This team is DEVOID of difference makers on defense. Difference Makers at DE/DT are what great defenses are built around.

For the love of God… we sucked for a reason last season. Do not Graves this up and trade away the sure thing for a bag of magic beans.

Trading down makes sense if you believe rebuilding is a 1 year process.

It’s not.

An undersized Andy Isabella like WR? Oh wait, never mind, SK is gone! :stick:

I feel like every other GM in the league knew Keim enough that they all colluded to hype garbage players to him in their country club conversations knowing that he would take players off the board way ahead of range essentially moving every other team's pick up one slot in every round for free.

Sure it's deep, but Anderson is just a frocking monster. You don't pass on guys that you think are going to be perennial All Pros at a premium position just so you can draft a guard, a run stuffing DT, and a third tier edge.

Trading down is the easy way out.
