I acctually saw the game. A buddy of mine called me up to watch this kid in the 2nd half. The guy was just bowling guys over left and right. Nothing really fancy just plain old, "try and tackle me or I will run you over", football. He has a monster stiff arm as well. It will interesting to see what he does the rest of the year thats for sure.

Unfortunatly I didnt get to see the game, only highlights. But from what I saw he was not only going straight at people but had speed in the open field too. He was running away from guys.

6'2 is awfully big and East Carolina isnt a very good football team, but that many yards in one game is amazing. New Big East record...wonder what the single game NCAA record is? Anyone know?

Lydell Ross for OSU ran for 140+ yards and he is one the worst TB's in the Big 10+1.

Cedric Benson 15 carries 181 yds, 2 TDs, in basically the first half.
True Freshman Ramonce Taylor, 4 carries, 99 yds (got pushed out at the 1 yd line) in the second half.
Selvin Young 12 carries 106 yds in between them.

Doesn't mean much though, North Texas, East Carolina, and Cincinatti aren't exactly powerhouse teams.

I now all you people are spouting off Benson 15 carries 181 yards, Blah-Blah Willaims 20-141 yards, etc etc. But frankly it all pales in comparison to 337 yards and 4 td's and only on 25 carries!

He didnt play the 4th quarter.


The record by Tomlinson could have easily been broken had WVU wanted to run up the score even more (49-9 at half).

Just keep an eye on this guy this year!

Actually he did play in the 4th quarter, one of his TD's was in the 4th, his 13.5 yds per carry, were only slightly better than Bensons 12.1 yds per carry. I'm not saying that Benson is awesome because of the one game (he is, but not because of this one game), I just don't think its time to declare this guy the number one pick in next years draft. I've never actually heard of the guy before, so he is either young or hasn't done anything like this before Sat.

I like Benson as well! And I am not saying Harris should be the #1 pick in the draft, just the Cardinals #1 pick!

You havent heard of him b/c Quincy Wilson was the starter last year and Harris didnt get to play much.

They play at Central Florida next week....He might break the Big East record again!
