With Wilson signed, do the Cardinals have the cap space to sign Boldin?

And the rookies, or is it unless Dansby re-signs, Boldin won't get his contract?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Wilson just took most of the last of our cap space. Unless we resign Dansby, I'm guessing we're done with moves this off-season that don't involve our draft picks.

Boldin shouldn't get his contract until next year IMO. He has 2 years left on his deal, thats a lot in the world of football.

Wilson is already counting 6 mil against the cap and with his resigning he cap should be at that price or below 6 mil.

Per Joe his cap hit likely reduced our total salary cap from 500 thousand to 1 million.

The deadline for getting a franchise player (i.e. Dansby) signed is June 15 (i.e. this coming Monday)

If we have enough cap room but can't get Dansby signed, I'm guessing that, effective mid-July, Q will then become #1 on Rod's "To Do" list.

I don't think we do, if we don't resign Dansby.

Huge signing bonuses were laid out for Kurt and A-Dub. If, by chance, we extend Dansby (doubtful), that will be a third huge bonus. There is no way in h-e-double hockey sticks that we do a fourth huge contract. That would be over $50M in signing bonuses in one year! NO WAY.

And if we don't resign Dansby,
1. There will be no cap room to extend Boldin (He only counts about $4M now).
2. We will not lay out a third huge bonus for a player with 2 years left.

The earliest we even consider extending Boldin is next year. And if Breaston continues to impress, and Doucet develops, we are not resigning him. I love the man just like everyone else, but it's not happening people.

If next year remains uncapped, that would be the best time to extend Boldin. I sure would love to see him taken care of now though.

Which is probably based in reality. Age and injuries have a huge factor in the NFL. Both are creeping up on Boldin.

Would you rather have 2 years of Boldin or 5 years of a Breaston/Doucet and get about the same production for much less?

Then it is not "technical"... it is in fact your opinion... ;)

What's your point? Isn't 95% of what we talk about here pure and simple opinions? If all we did was spit out 100%, concrete facts, there would be about 5 comments a day.

Boldin and Breaston's styles are different. Breaston is supposed to be our speedster, Boldin is the tough guy. Also, Doucet is all potential at this point.

are we gonna have enough cap space to sign the rookies?

from what they said on Sirius radio this afternoon, no. We have $1.5 mil right now, according to them. Either some cuts, extensions (not happening) or redos must be on the horizon.

So the Cards increased Warner's cap hit by 7 million and Wilson's by 4 million and people are saying it's Dansby's failure to sign a new deal that is causing the Cards cap problems??????

Warner was a free agent they increased his cap hit just by signing him to the tune of 11.5 mill. Which is about right of a cap hit for a top flight QB.

Also the Cards dont have a cap problem since finding out the correct Wilson info. They have plenty for their rookies and a 1 mill buffer for injuries going into training camp.

Then once we make our final cuts for the season we will probably have even more cap space to work with for injuries and possibly more extensions.

I repeat, cap is not an issue unless you are one who actually still believes Boldin has a shot at an extension this season.

Right.

But that didn't stop ill informed people from calling Dansby every name in the book and wanting him out of town because they claimed his failure to sign a new deal was seriously harming the team.
