Well, to put a positive spin on it, the Suns increased their chances of getting the Wizards first round pick.

This type of game is very frustrating, especially following an inspiring win. The Suns need to stop reading the press clippings and truly take one game at a time. Let the fans overreact from game to game.

Wizards invoked the formula.
Slow it down, pack it in, keep it ugly. Works every time.

Worst part is not only do I have to watch my team lose but I also get to witness a really hideous basketball game.

Exactly. Pack it in, dare them to shoot threes. Dragic, Tucker, and Green combine for 2-13 from three- there is no way to win that game.

Ish Smith was our leading rebounder tonight - 4 rebs is 14 minutes!

If he could just learn to shoot the 3 ball we could start him at PF.

Tucker needs to come off the bench. Guys like him and Lou are supposed to be 15-20min bench sparks that's it.

Start Christmas or Marcus at SF. I don't see how either can play that much worse than Tucker.

Frye with 3 rebounds in 36 mins. Frye is 6'11, 250lbs.

Don't you have to try to NOT pull down at least 5 boards if your that big and if you play that many minutes?

Man the Forward positions are the real gaping hole on this team... Frye and Tucker are both bench guys.

This is why I think Sci Fi is out to lunch believing Gasoline turns this team into a title contender. We're a solid up and comer and that's all we should be for now.

I don't disagree, but I see it just a bit differently. While Frye is a bench guy, I don't think he would be exposed as much if he actually played the 4 spot WITH a real Center next to him. Suns didn't fall apart until they went with Frye and the twins front court.

Indeed. Frye with 3 rebounds today in 36 minutes. I wish we had a vocal leader or a guy like Ray Lewis or Kobe Bryant on this team who would blast him for his awful rebounding and light a fire under his butt.

Instead Frye is the "leader" of this team when he himself plays like a teenage girl most of the time.

If Frye still played for the Knicks, he would be getting GRILLED with questions about his pathetic rebounding.

I wish we would play Len more. I don't think Len is gonna stop making Frye rebound like a girl but it would be better for our team success.

Hornacek is a coach that loves small ball, I get that and I respect it. However, having a true C on the court at all times like Len or Plumlee is pivotal to our success because the rest of our team is mostly undersized for their positions. For example, Morris twins, Tucker etc.

We don't know yet if Hornacek "loves small ball". I think he has done the best with what he has. If he had a power forward like Nene and refused to play him, then I could get on board with what you are saying. I think it is important to win first. And right now, small (ish) is what we got, IMO.

I sure hope Horny doesn't love small ball but you may be right '88. I know I'd have thrown Kravtsov on the floor in sheer exasperation from watching Frye and others failing to rebound but I suppose Jeff feels he hasn't earned it - I see it as Frye earning bench time and K. just being the only reasonable choice (despite my joke that Ishmael rebounds better than Channing.)

I'm not reading anything into his use of Len - I think he's doing what he believes is best for Len's development and he may well be right. But with Slava there's no reason to go slow so give him some decent length stints on the floor and see if he can't contribute. Heck, when Frye isn't on from behind the arc there's very little to lose - same thing when 'Kieff is being timid.

That's exactly where the Suns are. The Suns are playing better than expected but that is where it ends. IMO, the Suns have fulfilled their role by playing entertaining basketball. They would be better served missing out on the playoffs and getting a better draft pick. I think the Suns have laid the foundation for future success but they are not there yet.

I'm excited and pretty much still in wonder about where this team is today compared to where they were a year ago

I've always believed we needed upgrades at the forward positions.

I've always believed we needed upgrades at the forward positions.

In all fairness, at the end of last season, we needed upgrades on every single position. Adding Bledsoe and Green upgraded both guard spots, Len and Plumlee were solid additions to the Center rotation. I have no doubt 3 and 4 spots will be upgraded next summer. It's just hard to plug 5 holes in one off-season.
