What would be the point? Why not put him on IR? They can keep the roster spot empty if needs be. No reason not to have him on IR unless they think there is some slight chance he might be able to play.

Watt is a different breed of animal. He has an extremely high threshold for pain. Even at 75%, he forces offenses to scheme against him, and makes it easier for us to scheme against stopping the run on the early downs. If this team consistently finds itself in 3rd & 2, our offense will need to score 30+ for us to win against the teams that matter. Watt knows he doesn’t have much time left in this league & knows that this team can be special minus the injuries. I’m sure he’s dotting i’s & crossing t’s trying to figure out a way to still play & contribute.

What I don't get is that even if they think he can somehow play through this, I just see no way that's gonna happen before our bye week. So they still could have placed him on IR, even if he gets back way earlier than predicted.
Well I’m living proof you can go years without surgery with a torn labrum. But I don’t play professional football. In the gym if I tweek it the wrong angle? Excruciating pain immediately...

At this point I actually hope that Dhop doesn't play. Just not worth it in my eyes to risk a more severe injury.

We have to remember, he played a bunch of snaps after the injury seemingly without much pain.
I know the media reports said his arm was falling off, but the fact he played with it with only a small amount of pain suggests it's not as bad as suggested.
Pain shots work.... betting he got shot up at half... and the replays in that doctor video in the 4th you could see he was def favoring it.
Oh yeah def favoring it, not saying he didn't know about it. Just that it didn't seem as serious as the media reports.
Cooing out flat and letting them get a lead would put us into comeback mode
Meanwhile if their run game is going that's recipe for bad things
If Colt starts they know he can't throw deep so they can shorten the field and helps against big plays

Man Kyler getting hurt late was so frustrating and avoidable. Packers were on the ropes all we had to do was continue throwing it.
That aside
This does feel like a loss. However, I think Colt will move the football. He's accurate and smart enough to know where to go. I also expect Kliff to put Colt under center more. Which will help get him those play action passes to get YAC yards.
I think this has to be a Chandler Jones game. If this defense tightens up and forces a couple Jimmy G turnovers we can win a 20-17 kind of game.
Colt is going to get us 20 imo. Just need to see the defensive effort they gave the last time they played the 49ers. Would help if Shanahan makes some questionable decisions as well.
