The San Diego Dolphins, Valley Ice Capettes, Berkeley Breakers, San Diego Gulls, Costa Mesa Puckers, and Los Angeles Blues were all active in growing the game of women's hockey in California, either independently or as members of the Southern California Women's Hockey League in the 1970s.
