How'd the Poker Game go? How many hands did you last before you went "All In?" :)

It was fun, just four of us...we did some practice hands for about an hour, just to get the other two guys into the game and to teach them a little.

Then we did the $5 buy-in for No-Limit, and just did nickle ante's instead of Blinds. We'll do that next time.

The two new guys didn't last too long, and I was down to $1.50 after going hard on a flush I had, only to find out the other guy had the same flush, but Ace-high!

So it was down to one-on-one...and I came back. Went All-In three times, and won them all. The last one was a pretty fun hand actually.

I was dealt 10, K, and we both bet about 50 cents just to see a flop.

It came: 10, 3, K. Great for me, two pair. Suddenly, he goes All-In...and I'm thinking, if anything, he just has what I have, OR a pair in his hand. So I felt confident, so I called. About $5.75 was all I had, and it was in the pot.

Flipped our cards to find he just had a pair of 10's, so I was in the drivers seat big time. Nothing came for him at the Turn or the River, and I won the hand.

Ended up with about $11 when we stopped, which was $6 more than I started with.

It was fun, but I'll look forward to next time with a few more guys who know the game better. First two guys were out quick.

I don't know, that sounds just like one they had last season. Unless they had a tournament and the same guys showed up again. In fact, i think after the one last year they had a show about how to play poker with Lou Diamond Phillips as host.

I play in a game sunday nights here at one of my friend's houses. I happen to think I am a decent player, but if I walked into a casino I am sure I would get destroyed.

I want to try it though sometime. I was thinking of maybe trying to go to Foxwoods up in Connecticut for a weekend.

Play online at PokerStars.com.

Just download the program.

I think this is how Chris Moneymaker made the big-time.

Did Anyone Watch...

...the World Poker Tour Hollywood Home Game on Sunday night? Pretty cool change of pace from the poker pros playing in the WPT events. Plus the winner of this one and the next 3 round each win a $25000 buy-in to the WPT Championship.

It will replayed Wednesday night...Steve Harris, Jack Black, Aisha Tyler, Fred Savage, Mimi Rogers and Drew Carey played in round 1.

Check it out.

She was on the X-Files! I hated her character though.

But anyway, back to the topic at hand, thanks for the info - I'll probably check it out - what network airs it ?

WPT

Anyone catch last night's Bicycle Casino-Legends of Poker on WPT? All I can say is WOW. Maybe one of the most exciting of these shows I have seen yet. I don't know if this was a new show or rerun but I hadn't seen it yet (plus during the show there was a commercial saying the new WPT is coming).

For those into poker, I think it gets replayed on Saturday's. Check it out.

Is everything
The best reality show on TV.

When I play cards in the poker clubs I can always tell newbies who have been watching the WPT because they bet big right off the bat with a low or medium pair in the hole. Those are good hands in a no limit heads up match, but if you push that with a table full of players in a low limit game you're just asking for someone to take your money.

No spoilers...yet.

Great show last night. This is exciting TV. I am not surprised at the popularity of this show.

Shana Hiatt is a real cutie too.

ANyone interested in giving WPT a try, they have a nice sweepstakes going with an all expenses paid trip to Vegas and a shot at getting to the final table for the Bad Boys of Poker. Here is a link for the contest:

lol, not problem...that one of her laying down is insane...

I usually skip past her part on the show because I just want to get to the poker (since it's two hours long!), but sometimes you just gotta slow down and she what she says.

For Those Who Watch the WPT

Who do you think is the best poker player out there? Mike Sexson calls everyone the best but whom do you think is #1?

For my money, it is Gus Hansen. Not because he is the winningest player ever on the Tour but rather the truly unpredictable nature of his play. He would be the last guy I would want to face. Howard Lederer is 2nd. You can actually see his mind working when he is contemplating a move and that is unnerving.

Keep waiting for Phil Ivey to return to the final table.

While I was in Vegas over Memorial Day weekend, the World Series of Poker was going `on downtown at Binion's...at least according to a couple people. I wonder who won it.

I don't know the players by name. But the Asian looking dude with dark glasses always seems to win.
