Yeah, but Montgomery is pitching for Texas tomorrow and the dude is locked in of late. Tonight was a win, but then again it’s hard to win when your pitching staff CANNOT THROW STRIKES.
Cannot defend a walk.

BTW - my best friend is a die hard Rangers fan. I have more on the line than my favorite team winning a championship

We were down 0-2 to an arguably better team and came back to win, so can’t write off the team yet. Just a bad time for Sewald to have his worst night of the postseason.
Rangers are better and this is the first truly gut wrenching loss of the post season for this team. Will definitely be tougher to come back from. Not saying it's not possible.

Why did we bring Castro in and pitch to Garcia?? I got up and walked away when that happened.. My wife said you’re not going to watch.. I said he is going to walk it off.. sure enough.. why didn’t they just walk him.. he has been hot all post season and their better hitter..

Sigh..

Two of my closest friends too. One of which was a law school roommate. I’ve received texts all night.

Game was already over. Giving up a walk then a 2R HR to Seager in the bottom of the 9th after Sewald had been lights out all postseason sealed the fate.

Garcia in extras was inevitable.

Phillies were the better team, too... on paper. But that isn't what wins the games. In the MLB post season, it's really all about momentum - who seizes it and whether the other team can shift it.

Right? That’s not the guy you give opportunity to.

For sure. Both teams kind of turned the tables on each other tonight. You never know what will happen.

This team has been resilient. All Texas has done is hold serve. And it was much more difficult than they expected. Yeah it’s REALLY awful we lost a stolen game, but this is the beginning. I don’t think it’s too big for our guys.

Montgomery was dominant in the ALCS but he got blown up by the Orioles in the division series. He’s not un-hittable and neither was Eovaldi tonight. I like Merrill tomorrow.

That was a damn good game - superstar painted our pitcher into a corner in the end - it was masterful how he controlled the pitch count until he got exactly what he homered

Kills me that Carroll's great slide was wasted as was Pham's huge homer.
