WHAT! What rotation you watching? StL is all offense. Seriously, is Woody Williams the answer? I dont think so. Consider Pedro, Schilling and Lowe.. with Ramirez and the crew from last year its just as equal if not better than StL offense. Seriously. This is the Red Sox year.

I have been watching the rotation of Suppan, Williams, Morris, Haren, Kline, Izzy, King, Tavarez, etc all play above expectations, except for Morris. I said they were better than given credit for not that they were great or tops in the league. They have gotten the job done, good defense behind em helping of course. Nonetheless if our offense puts up such big numbers and our pitching staff stays the course most teams should have a hard time putting up equal offensive #'s. Shows in our 2-0 lead over a decent offensive Dodgers team.

Boston's rotation and lineup is pretty scary. I fear them most in the AL. More than the damn Yankees. Would be a good WS.

By the way, that big collective groan we heard in Arizona heard a few hours ago came all the way from SoCal when Scioscia put Washburn in the game. I knew the game was over when I saw that gas can trotting in from the bully. Oh, and Red Sox fans...2002 vs. 1918.

3-1 Cards win!

Thank god we had that defense. Suppan was throwing 20 mile an hour fastballs like the rest of the staff does. If it wasnt for our defense he would have given up 35-65 runs.

League Championships:

Yankees vs Red Sox

Astros vs Cardinals

Both Wild Cards advanced, and play division rivals.

Just wondering, but it says your in Scottsdale. But, is YOUR team the StL Cardinals? Cuz MY team is the D-Backs.

Yikes - Schilling out after 3, down by 6 - his ankle is pretty serious if it did this to him. Messy.

I was thinking Astros-Cardinals should be a really good series, and tho I'd be fine with either team, think probably St. Louis has a better shot. Phil Garner made some pretty screwy moves, and though LaRussa is a jerk and overmanages, I think he's probably less likely to mess things up. Then again, Astros have some advantages pitching-wise.

I would like a Houston-MFY WS, just to have Clemens pitch against George's boys...

Mussina is perfect through 4 1/3. There are three guarantees in life: death, taxes, and the Sox getting beat down by the MFY.

Quite a rally to 8-7. If the Red Sox can't win with this team this year, will they ever? They have all the parts.

I think most of America and Fox wants a Red Sox-Cardinals series. An Astros-Yankees series would be a let down. Much like last year when we got Marlins-Yankees instead of the Cubs and Red Sox. Still, I'd like to see the Astros win it all.

Very true, but I was more than pleased with last years WS outcome. :D

Choke? You really are a jerk. The guy can hardly walk on his right ankle; New England news is saying he's very likely to miss at least his next start. Call him foolish for trying to pitch on the bum leg, call Boston's notoriously bad team medical staff incompetent for not taking better care of this two months ago when it first came up -- but 'choke' doesn't even apply.

Take your personal insults elsewhere buddy..... giving up 6 runs in 3 innings is a choke job. If he couldn't go he should have sat, period, instead of putting his team down 1-0.

God, some of you act as though he walks on water!!

Rough outing for Schilling - I was hoping he could shut the Yanks up, but looks like his leg didn't hold up.

I hardly think he walks on water - I agree if he was in that bad shape, he should have sat, but because his ankle was heavily taped and he'd had a big shot of pain killer, he probably thought he could go. He's had ankle problems since mid-season - and Boston's team doctors are infamous in New England for only looking at the short-term gain.
There were reports earlier in the week he was limping badly and had to wear a walking boot all day every day, and Fox said yesterday the team trainers were thinking of taping a steel brace to the ankle for the game - sounds to me like the powers that be knew damn well he was very iffy but were going to find a way to let him go out there if he was willing.

To me, 'choke' is all mental, wilting under pressure - and I don't believe this was a failure of discipline, attitude, etc - no matter how driven a guy is, sometimes flesh and bone just aren't going to cooperate.

Yeah I was born and raised in St. Louis and the Cards will always come first with me. I would say I am a Dbacks fan but if the Cards and Dbacks play I have to root for the Cards. The Cards are MY team.

Wow this has been a great postseason so far. This should make for a great series in my opinion. I can't wait. Go Cards.

Yes it should make for a good one. I hope the BoSox take it all, I wanna see what happens to life when they do. I love Schilling (he a phoenix raised boy). Hate L. Walker, A self admitted money *****. Canadian on top of that. R. Sanders and Womack already got riings so its ok.
