I'm going to go through life never understanding the appeal of chili cheese fries. I'm fine with this.

It's chili, cheese, onions, and sour cream on top of fries. What's not to understand?

I'm here, albeit way late.

Carl's Jr. burgers don't really do all that much for me.

I'm going to still petition In and Out to make me a 5x5 but at this rate, the meal is like $10.

PS. Life is about moderation people. 3 times in my effort to lose weight have I ate an entire Dijorno Pizza. Yet, I'm still over 30 pounds down since January. I still eat bad sometimes, just not as often and for not as many meals of the day.

Yep. I've "dieted" before, and would invariably cheat. I've read articles about people that would sneak candy bars, whatever...who are they fooling? Your body doesn't give a crap who does or doesn't know what you ate.

When I started this stupid diet, I logged EVERYTHING I ate here: http://caloriecount.about.com/ and kept my daily intake under 1,227 (or at least, that's the goal). Not logging something or fudging only hurts me, so I've been painfully honest on it. It's worked. I'm down 20 lbs. I put a few back on over my birthday weekend, but I've lost most of that.

So far, I've learned better what exactly a portion is. I can't even eat like I used to be able to; I get full much faster (thank God).

But, you can't go killing yourself, either, or you'll burn out. I've gone out a few times & paid no regard to calories. You just have to...just not often.

I have come to the conclusion that very few people cook their own meals and control the ingredients that go into the creations. Seems cooking has been replaced by take out, eat out or heating up some packaged instant meal. Yuck.

Oh well.

Word. Cooking at home is healthier (usually) and cheaper (most of the time).

We very rarely eat out; at least, for dinner...and dcr doesn't eat lunch out that often, either.

Agreed, however some of us non-processed food eaters do exist. We try to make as much food at home as possible, all the way down to dessert (homemade cookies and ice cream).

Those homemade "creations" can be fun! I'm reading a book now that lists and describes the author's 150 best foods to eat (mostly veggies and fruits of course) and I'm on a quest to integrate as many of them as possible into my diet.

I eat at home almost every day/night and I'm still way overweight.

I guess I should learn how to make something that doesn't include sour cream, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, or all of the above.
