There were a lot of them, and too many to choose from, but lets try it anyway.

Kicking the FG on second down, after Rackers barely makes one from 5 yards closer.

Not calling a time out to avoid the 5 yard delay of game penalty by the FG team.

Rackers actually missing a 32 yard field goal.

Wasting their final timeout with 6 seconds left, forcing them to throw the ball in the end zone.

Throwing a fade route to BJ with 6 seconds left instead of Fitz, who had already jumped over 5 defenders in the end zone.

Not going for it on 4th & 1 during OT, only to watch Matt Barr kick an 8 yard punt.

Kurt Warner allowing himself to get sacked in the end zone, creating the fumble ending the game.

I know I am missing a ton of them. Feel free to add one yourself if you like.

Im going with kicking on second down. I truly don't understand kicking it on 2nd. 3rd down, I completely understand. Not second.

So many good (!) choices, dcr. I voted for the fade to BJ instead of Fitz...it was almost like they wanted to specifically give him the td because he didn't get it on the bomb.

But...I was livid at Ben Patrick yesterday. Don't make that stupid play and your quarterback isn't in the endzone in the first place.

What a horrid game. :madarms:

Not running the ball more on 2nd down.

The theme given to the team and fans by the coach was:

"Inch by Inch" not take the easy way out by kicking on 2nd down.

The smart thing to do would have been to continue to run the ball. By running the ball we would have showed how tough our team has become. It takes discipline to stick the game plan and fight for that TD "inch by inch".

But instead we tried to take the easy way out and kicked FG which Matt Barr screwed up. And then tried to kick it again, which Neil Rackers screwed up.

The defender actually made a great play to knock the ball out of BJ hands. Don't blast BJ, he made an incredible catch to put us on the one and then had the ball in his hands when Strickland knocked it out.

You need to add Breaston's decision to catch a punt at the 5 instead of allowing it to go into the EZ for a touchback.

Too many bad things can happen when you drop back to pass in the endzone. We saw two of them, but if there was a holding penalty that would have been a safety, too.

I'm going to have to go with Breaston fielding that punt on the two. Why in the hell didn't he just let it go into the endzone?

He does that and there is no penalty on Patrick.

Not blasting BJ. Blasting the coach for not getting the ball to Fitz instead. Fitz would have made the catch. Assured of this.

Also need to add Morey for not being able to outrun everyone.

I agree with the announcer if you watch the replay the only reason Breaston isn't tackled immeidately is the block in the back. Patrick made a dumb play but if he didn't do it, we're still on the 2 yard line because of Breaston.

Whiz should NOT have let Kurt throw from his endzone, you know the guys history of fumbling and taking sacks, run the ball get some room. AS soon as he dropped back I knew the game was over.

This (kicking the FG in the first place instead of just running edge more to get closer and also run down the clock) and Breaston fielding a punt that would have been a touchback most likely would be my choices.

I went with missing a 32 yarder. Come on...that's ridiculous.

You know what else is crazy? The Niners rushed four on the final play of the game.

This may warrant a seperate thread, but one of the reasons the Cards couldnt spike the ball toward the end of the game, was the Gandy was draaaaaaaagging his fat ass up the field...walking. He couldnt get to the line and was 10-15 yards off the ball.

No way to choose just one... Your list is pretty good though, and I would add:

- Breaston receiving the punt instead of letting it go into the endzone...

- Ben Patrick's TWO penalties on punt returns...

- The playcall to throw the ball on the final play, putting Warner in the endzone where SO MANY BAD THINGS CAN HAPPEN - and did!!!

The list can go on and on and on...

Of course it has to #3. Game over Cards Win a thriller!

My son pointed out the play selection (all passes, no runs) after Cards had gotten lead back on Patrick TD catch. The defense stopped them 3 and out and forced a punt. We took maybe 1 minute off clock when when better play-calling/execution might have allowed team to run out clock or at least get into position to kick a FG. Instead we have to punt, Gore Scores and the ensuing OT fiasco occurs.

I thought our identity would be run to control the clock in the 4th quarter with a lead. We didn't do that. Coaches fault!!!

I can't consider anything that happened after Rackers missed the FG.

Because of all the bad plays performance or coaching calls this game can go down as one of the worst game ever played by a Cardinals team since 1988. Even worse than being the only team to lose to the JETs during their 1-15 season and, worse than the year the Niners went 2-14 both Cardinal loses. This one wont go away easy, but the seasin does and we can beat Cleveland next week. So I will dring another twelve Martinis or so and just go to bed.

I still can't believe the decision to kick on second down. The coaching staff has to realize that Rackers has the yips, right? Right? EJ just picked up 5 yards on first down, at least give him the shot to pick up another 5 on second down before you let yip-boy have his chance to blow it.

Problem I had with the game was with around 5 minutes left in regulation, we were passing the ball instead of chewing a little of the clock running. Yea I know, 49ers still would have gotten the ball back, but there would have been less time, or maybe they would have had to burn their TO's

IN fairness if you just watched the last year or so of tape on us you have Kurt fumbling away the rams game, Edge fumbling to start the Bears comeback, and Rackers blowing several games. Whiz probably figured the more plays we run the more likely one of these guys screws up?

I just better not see Barr holding next week or I'll be pissed, if he's as bad a holder as they're saying, put in Rattay, if he's not, tell Rackers to quit making excuses.
