Would drafting Kyle Pitts be smart or not smart?

I’m curious for the people that want Kyle Pitts.

Does not history of 1st round TEs not living up to the hype put a pause on for you? Is he just not an oversized WR?

What stands out about him compared to precious 1st TEs in the past 10 years?

I think Pitts will be better than Gronk so I wouldn't mind taking him.

Smart. All you have to know is that no TE since the 70s has finished in the top 10 in Heisman voting except Pitts. He is a matchup plus for any team that drafts him. He can lineup at the outside or inside in the mold of Travis Kelce

His size / speed / athleticism / ability to catch poorly thrown balls is tailor made for the Cardinals needs.

It depends in what they do in free agency, if they add a great offensive lineman and an solid cb, i m not totally against
But obviously is the last position we should look for

If Giants ( or some other team) grabs Pitts before Cards pick, I would like to see Brevin Jordan TE Flex 2nd or 3rd round. Drafting 16 is drafting for need, not BPA.

The NFL top TEs were all 2nd 3rd rounders.

Who is he going over in that case?

I see one more qb in the top ten
New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, San Francisco, Indianapolis, Chicago, Washington can trade up

A guard center has ever been drafted in the top10, just asking, i don't remember

In this offense I don't think it is a smart call.
I would rather go WR or OL on the offensive side. Or CB on the defensive side.
But I usually harp going BPA, not need. So who ever is the top rated player, I'm good.

Kelce - 2nd round
Gronk - 2nd round
Hunter -2nd round
Kittle - 5th round
Higbee - 4th round
Waller - 6th round
Andrews - 3rd round
Ertz - 2nd round

1)Troy Niklas 2nd round super bust
2)Ben Patrick 7th round best tigh end drafted by Arizona in the last 15years
3)Tigh end from Rutgers 7th rounder remembered by fans for his Cardinals logo tattoo
4)Jim dray efficient blocker, slower then a lineman, that's all

Cardinals has a very good scout department regarding tigh ends

Very little indicates first round TEs justify the picks. Pitts clearly dominated the position this season but it’s unlikely he’ll be an impact player in the NFL. He’s good but not extraordinarily good.

FWIW, Scooby Wright was 9th in Heisman voting in 2014 and PFF had him ranked 2nd among LBs, 4th in pass rushing and 2nd vs the run.

I'm not spending that high of a pick on a TE who is a luxury at best. T.J. Hockenson is the last good high profile TE drafted in the first, and 67 catches for 723 yards and 6 TDs isn't exactly a game-breaking profile.

Those numbers way better than I would have guessed.
