Would you do the 14th pick and Nash for Torontos first

Then you could get Harden. I am sure they would not give it up is it is top 3, but if it is not, I say Kerr needs to call Bryan Colangelo up right away. They are in win now mode. Maybe you even send Amare too and get Calderon back. They are going to be so far under the cap, they can take on the salaries.

Not being a Suns fan, but being a ASU fan, I would love to watch Harden grow in Phoenix since the Bulls have no shot at him.

Harden at #8? I don't see it and while I like Harden I am not sure he will be a truly special NBA player.

And why give up the #14 pick with Nash?

I am sure New York would trade Curry and #9 for Nash.

Curry has horrible contract. #9 alone is not enough. Golden State might want to get Nash too.

I agree, the NY deal would not work, plus they do not want to win now. GS is also hard because they have so many other needs. Toronto is very close to being good and to bring in a draft pick would not help now. They would also move down to the #6 spot in the draft. You even be able to do Calderon and their number 1 for Nash and Amare and still keep the 14th pick. Then send Shaq to Cleveland for who ever and their number 1 next year and you have your pick back next year. If you can land Harden, then you need to unload J-Rich though. Too bad Kerr is also as dumb as Paxson and would never get creative to make a plan for the future.

Doable deals might be the following swap:

Nash/JRich/LB for Ellis/Crawford/Azubuike/Fr. C/It. SG

or

JRich to wherever they need a good SG like Minn. or Indiana

If the CELTICS get de-throned this year i'd look into getting Rondo back and dangling Nash and our 1st. Calderon is nice but Rondo's skills are more of what i have in mind going forward. We might also be able to get BOSTONS late 1st and a younger filler.
The thought of having a backcourt of Rondo/Barbosa at this stage is intriguing and potentially beastly IMO. I don't care that we drafted him, get him back.

How would it work to get Rondo here? Rondo is better, younger and way cheaper than both Calderon and Nash.

What? That is ridiculous.. Nash and Amare for the #6 pick? .. just awful.

Plus Curry's contract runs out after next year so it is not horrible.

We could possibly arrange a buyout for him and save 6M$ by trading Nash for him and #9.

Although maybe we could get New York to throw in something additional. Say at least their 2nd rounder we would then have 4 second rounders that maybe we could trade to get a #20 pick for Buddinger.

Like i said, d-a-n-g-l-e. ;)
Pipe dream but if any PG can give a veteran team an offensive lift it's Nash..... despite his age IMO. He would simply feed the big three relentlessly and add another scoring dimension that Rondo doesn't have yet. I haven't explored the trade machine on this.

It is not just the 6th. It is also Calderon.

And what is so good about that?

Calderon has 6 years or so left on his contract , the last years paying him over 10M$. Sorry but I don't want a long term signed, quite expensive, above average, 28 yrs old PG on a rebuilding team.

Nash and Amare for Calderon and #6 is still the joke of the century. Amare alone should get a top3 pick in return.

Am i right about this, you're saying the number 14 and Nash for Toronto's first rounder? And Amare for Calderon? Really? So Nash, Amare, and number 14 for Calderon and Toronto's pick? This just does not seem like enough to me.

Harden is way overrated. He relies too much on his left hand and is turnover prone. I wouldn't draft him even if he dropped to #14. So we're giving up Nash and Amare, our 2 best players, for Harden, an unproven rookie, and Calderon? Another thing to consider is that if we give up Amare, the only real big guy we got left is Shaq, who is leaving after one year if he even lasts that long. Then we're left with Side Show Rob and Amundson? That would be a bad deal in my opinion.

I agree the trade is a joke. However, Amare for a #1, #2 or #3??? That is just as big a joke. Teams know he doesn't play defense. Teams were also offering garbage at the trade deadline. Usually the first few picks are considered locks. Nobody is going to give you that for Amare. Nobody.

Agree with Harden being overrated. He is not going to be some superstar IMO. I just don't see it. The guy dissappeared in the biggest stage in baskeball.

In terms of trading Amare, I don't think you can look at it like that. We know how far we can get with a team that doesn't play defense. As long as your best big man is Amare your in trouble anyway. We know Shaq isn't goign to be here. It's time to move Amare, Nash & Shaq. Unfortunately, it appears the Suns want to keep Nash, can't trade Amare (because of the recoving eye injury).

1) Draft Flynn or Blair

2) trade down and draft Patty Mills

Shaq for Garnett while you're at it.
