I really like Gurley but I'd take Tevin Coleman over Gordon.

For us very possibly Coleman would be a good fit. I like the MSU back Langford and the N. Iowa kid Johnson, but we'd have to use a 2nd, mtl on any of them. Don't think they'd last to the 3rd. Cobb or Davis would be an option in the 3rd.

Wouldn't trade him for Peterson, but I would trade him for Brandon Marshall...Bears are now shopping him and exploring trade options.

Rumor has it they only want a mid round pick. I'd just give a pick and keep Floyd.

While Floyd is younger than AP, he hasn't been extended. There is no guarantee he is a long term answer either.... Tough call for me!

And DWash?

Apple to Oranges, but good try.

DWash got into it with another grown adult and there are two sides to that story. He has also said he was sorry it happened and that is shouldn't. AP beat a help toddler to the point of bloody testicles and has said many times over he did nothing wrong.

If AP ever becomes a Cardinal, I won't watch another game until he is gone. He has shown no remorse for his actions, only remorse for getting caught.

Me thinks you would watch ;)

Gurley and Gordon can both be had in the 1st. Two 21 yr. old backs with tremendous upside. Put on O line in front of them.

Gurley wouldnt even let docs look at his knee at combine. I can think of infinite better uses of a draft pick than a RB who suffered torn ACL last November. How many RBs have the Big Red drafted since moving from STL that have been busts? You could fill the wing of a retirement home with all those guys living the good life at the expense of the Big Red. Other than QB the position of RB has had the most busts. AP is a known quantity.

I am probably in the minority here, but I am not all that excited to get Peterson. Immensely talented but to acquire him would cost us dearly in trade assets and salary cap. I'd rather we pick up Oline talent in FA, pass rushing LBs in the draft and either draft a big back in the 3rd or 4th round or sign Gore in FA. If we improve the Oline, maybe splash with Murray but only if we improve the line.

The assets to acquire an older Peterson + the salary + FA OL doesn't make us better, IMO, than spending the assets to get LBs, and salary on OL + a cheaper older back or a younger big salary back. JMO.

On top of that, I'm going to have to throw up in my mouth a little to watch DWash play again and I don't know if I can keep it down for both of them.

I am in the same camp as you. Upgrade the Oline and you can place a somewhat lesser RB in the backfield and get good production. Give a decent RB holes to run through and he will look good doing it.

I've said this many times, and it's true, a good RB makes his OL look better too. It's not all about the OL making the RB look good. In fact, many plays, the expectations of the RB is to make the first guy miss.

Gurley is a difference maker. You don't find those falling off trees esp. where we are drafting. Impact player who can be brought along slow at first.

That said we don't know how things shake out right now.

But think of a young Lynch 2.0 and what that could do for this team both on offense and defense.

Not exactly a fair fight. But what Peterson did was egregious. He needs to realize and use some of his college education, that while it could have motivated him to a degree it is not a method that ANY ONE should rely on ever. He should say that plainly and remorsefully.

Cool. This is like announcing you are going to unfollow someone on Twitter.

Do what ever you gotta do, but just do it. No need to get up on the soap box and announce your moral free agency. And my guess is you would be in the minority. All while wearing your Matheiu jersey.

Hell no. Trade picks if you have to. Floyd is a key player in the offense and the reason we don't have to target WR early in the draft. He's a legit 1000+ yard receiver in an offense that spreads the ball around.

Feel free to bag on Floyd, but the productivity from all WRs dropped precipitously when Palmer was out.

Really? Someone asked a question and I answered it and now you are telling me I have no right to answer it? So I have no right to answer it because my answer involves having morals? And what does Matheiu have to do with child abuse? Or are you having that smoking pot and beating a child are the same? Because you are pretty f'd up if so.

Not a fan of Floyd and never liked the pick. But we have invested a couple of years in his development, so would rather just keep him and get Ingram or one of a couple other FA RBs that are under 26 yrs old and still have some mileage left in their legs.

Don't mind us picking up a RB in Rnd 3 if there aren't any better choices left by then and one of the RBs we like are still on the board. I am one who doesn't see much starting talent past round 3 in this draft, so would be very conservative with our top 3 picks getting the very BPA in a need position in each round.

RB seems to be a position a team can fill in any of the first 3 rounds this year. That can't be said of other positions as far as a starting player is concerned.

Starting DE, OLB and ILB in round 1 or 2.
Starting CB in Rd 2 or possibly 3
Starting DT in Rd 1 or 2
Starting C or OG in Rd 2 or 3
Rd 4-7 will be backups at best. Might get lucky an get a player who can be developed into a mediocre starter.

If we use a top 3 pick on a RB, we will only be able to address 1 or 2 other starting needs that we have. Of what I read is our top needs: OLB, ILB, CB, DT, RB, OG, we better address at least 2 or 3 in FA. RB seems like a very likely position that can be easily addressed in FA. Possibly OG also in FA. That would free us up wonderfully to take the best player available each of the 1st 3 rounds at OLB, ILB, CB, or DT. If the draft goes favoribly for us, we could get 3 solid starters. My personal favorites would be:
1. Not our top need necessarily, but I wouldn't pass on The DT Brown from Texas. He is a monster and a sure hit.
2. If Brown is not there, which he really shouldn't be, then I definitely take the highest rated LB/DE in round 1.
3. ILB is really were we need to go in round 2. Round 1 would be reaching and I am afraid round 3 could be too late.
4. If a starting CB is a need, round 3 should have some solid ones left around, such as maybe a Darby.
5. We could get lucky and find a potential starting OG or C in round 4, although he probably would need a year or two to work his way into the starting lineup. But there is some potential talent that should be left for RD 4 at C/OG.

Just my opionion.

Speaking in absolutes will always get you in trouble. Situational Integrity at its finest. And I didnt see a question in the post you made that comment on but I digress.

All good man. We read the same stories on AP. Guess we view it differently. But if we get him and your still posting.....im gonna think your a hypocrite for taking such an unweildly stance in the first place.

I tend to seperate my own moral compass and what I expect out of my sports teams. But its doesnt make you (or me) better or worse. I just think announcing it is kinda dumb. You feel that way just do it when it happens and while I dont agree, I respect it. Its seems like a "look at me" type thing but I dont want to put words in your mouth.
