Sounds like there has been a major shift towards streaming services, which has impacted residuals for writers.

So without streaming residuals that you can't count on, would higher prices per job be better and just get away from the residual model altogether? I know I don't know the issues, which is why I am asking.

I don't have first hand for the writers, but to me it seems similar to when I do shareware or get options at work. It's nice to have the long tail income that's largely effort free and to get reward for past good work that built the company.
