The studios are hoarding the money, yes, but you will definitely see costs rise for streaming services.

Because of this, there is going to be a lot more failing streamers moving forward -- that will be the death knell for the smaller providers.

y'all shouldn't have to pay more of ANYTHING. The studios are hoarding this money. literally. not even paying for entire shows (in my case) much less not enough in residuals they actually pay.

if the streamers start raising prices "because of the writer's demands" you need to know that is a load of HORSE-MANURE.
I know we shouldn't, but that is what I expect to happen.

"This ‘groundbreaking’ AI proposal that they gave us yesterday that our background performers should be able to be scanned and get paid for one day’s pay and their companies should own that scan their image, their likeness to be able to use it for the rest of eternity in any project they want with no consent and no compensation, if you think that’s a groundbreaking proposal I suggest you think again.”

This is from SAG reps today. It's nuts. And that's just for the background people. Who make next to NOTHING (trust me... I've been there too!)

The studios are living in some bizarro fantasy world -- we just got out of an industry-crippling pandemic, and their plan is to make it WORSE?

It's small indie studios and places like my company that are going to suffer the most from this. The big studios don't care if this lasts for months.

Someone made a generative AI program based on Seinfeld that was streaming on Twitch a few months ago, it was interesting but mostly just nonsense about nothing.

As a Seinfeld fan, I can say that's not far off the mark.

Eventually got banned for hate speech

The Seinfeld team would find this hilarious. Too bad they couldn't make an episode about it.

Odenkirk, his brother and son have all been out with us on the strike lines since the jump back in May.

I’m excited to see what the lines look like tomorrow and see how much more of a presence the actors make.
Hopefully it looks like Avenger's End Game battle scenes!

Good article about the pretty shameful silence from our Unions First Democrats, staying relative silent as the AMPTP tries to crush ours.

Only two Dems I know who have made their voices heard about the strike so far have been Katie Porter and Adam Schiff. It’s crap because as always, money talks and bs walks (or doesn’t in this case).

This is why the debate between repubs and dems is such a joke. They both just do what the money tells them to do for the most part.
