Game is on ESPN right now. Cold, wet & snowy conditions in NYC. Tough game to judge QB's on as both WR's have dropped passes. Interesting matchup just the same.

I was really disappointed to find out about the poor weather conditions. I was really looking forward to seeing these QBs do their thing.

A bowl game in NY at end of December. Give me a break. So far impressed with Nassib and his quick release. Tough to evaluate arm strength in this weather.

I mentioned in the Homework thread that I liked both QB's footwork. One thing that concerned me about Smith was the tendency of his shallow throws to the far sideline to "die" (i.e. turn into balloons) before they reached their destination.

So far, no college QB reminds me of RG3, Luck, Wilson, Kaepernick or even Newton.

KAEPERNICK was considered justa runner like klein..wilson was considered nothing special..so probably someone will turn in something better.
with even newton what u mean?newton is the best player coming out of fotball in the last 5 years or more..15 rushing touchdown in his first season over 4000 yard passing..came on

Impressed with how Geno is running the offense he has complete control and audibles into what he feels is the best play. Nassib looks like Kolb to me in this game really has had a poor game and a bad decision on the INT. They are winning but it has absolutely nothing to do with Nassib.

I will say ive seen more screens in this game then any game I have ever seen.

Nassib has thrown 2 td passes & the Syracuse D is beating the crap out of Smith. Syr is running the ball, so they haven't needed Nassib to throw much, especially in this crappy weather. Syr 35, WVU 14. Smith has been sacked for 2 safeties.

I like what I see in Nassib in this game. Accurate passer in tough conditions. Some drops will hurt the stats but like what I see.

I would be wary of taking Smith in the first round. Not because of this game. Just too much of a gamble in my opinion.

what the hell game are you guys watching? nassib has 124 yards passing and at the end of the 1st half had 7 straight incompletions and was not accurate at all being 11/23, one TD was tipped by the corner and fell into the recievers hands and the other was screen that was like a running play.

Syracuse has not beaten up Geno they have gotten to him 3 times. WV has dropped about 2 other pics too. Are you guys watching this game?

Another mark against Smith, to me, is that he's running a variation of Mike Leach's offense. I didn't realize that the WVU HC was a product of Leach. There isn't a good NFL QB that has come out of that system and it always produces gaudy stats.

I only saw the 1st half but Nassib looked much better than Smith. Nassib had one deep ball that he badly underthrew but that could be weather related. I just like how he reads quickly, is decisive, and has a strong arm. He was pretty accurate, other than 2 throws.

Not so much when your throwing the ball less than 5 yards downfield most of the time.

That's smart play calling in a blizzard. WV has the worst defense in football so they're always trailing and throwing. Defenses are dropping 8 most of the time.

We can't accurately gauge either QB in today's weather. But, regardless of the weather, those dump offs and bubble screens are a big part of the WVU offense.

Actually, I think Nassib executes the screen better. A couple of times, Smith threw pop flies (allowing defenders to recover and reach the ball at approx the same time as the receiver).

I have not been impressed with either QB. At this point I don't know if I would take either in the second round. The most impressive QB this year other than Manzel is Aaron Murray of Georgia. Wilson is the other that I would consider in the second round. I don't see any QB worthy of a top ten pick this year.

When was this? when he had 7 straight incompletions in the first half. He completed one pass I believe past 15 yards. I think many people here just hate Geno for some reason. If you watched the game Geno was so much better at audibling at the line running through his options and reading the defense. Jesse Palmer even commented many times on it throughout the game.

The conditions made it impossible for either QB to look good. I like Nassib in the 2nd round as opposed to Smith in the 1st round. Nassib is coming out of a style of offense that is conducive to the NFL, whereas Smith isn't. I have seen Syracuse make Smith look very pedestrian 3 times in a row now. Smith is NOT early 1st round material. No way in hell!

Syracuse went completely conservative in the 2nd half. They didn't have to throw the ball, so they didn't. Nassib is NOT 1st round material, but neither is Smith. The conditions made it difficult for both QB's, but that is the 3rd time I've seen a Syracuse D embarrass Smith. The weather was PERFECT in the other 2 games.

I have watched Geno Smith in several games this year and have not been impressed once. Nassib I have not seen much of but after watching this game I would not take him before the third round. Really the only college QB's this year that have impressed me have been Manzel and Murray. Manzel is only a freshman and Murray is only a Junior and might not come out. This is just a really bad year to need a QB and I think we will be desperate and reach no matter what.
