Xbox 360 HD DVD deal at Best Buy

Just a heads up....

This week you can get a sick deal on the Xbox 360 HD DVD player at Best Buy. You can get the player with King Kong for $179. Then you get 2 free in-store HD DVDs of your choice and Heroes season 1 for free. You also get 5 free hd dvds by mail. The people at Best Buy are pretty clueless regarding the 2 free in store, and I actually had to call Best Buy customer care, but they did honor the deal, and they even said they sent out a memo to all stores to honor the deal. All of the free gear pays for the player. Heroes is $99.

You don't need a coupon. It is in their weekly ad. You can choose any two $34.99 and under so you can get pretty much anything except box sets. The ad has the Xbox HD DVD drive and says Heroes free next to it, then later in the ad they have a Toshiba that says get 2 free in store with the purchase of any HD DVD player, and that deal also applies to the Xbox add on. If they give you trouble, which they may or may not, like I said they initially did, tell them to call Best Buy customer care. Best Buy corporate is well aware of the issue and they will tell the store to honor it because it is part of the deal. I got Alpha Dog and Transformers for free.

Yeah, not too stoked, but I guess I'll have to get Babel and maybe Rattle and Hum, or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for the kids.

Done. I have been looking for a great deal on Heroes.

I chose Disturbia and Letters of Iwo Jima as my two free movies. They started to give me crap about the 2 free movies, but I explained to them that it should work. It rang up with no problems.

I so don't need another HDDVD player right now. I'll probably just ebay it.

If you don't want the 2 free movies, you can go to Buy.com and purchase this deal as well. It does not come with the 2 free movies, but it is $168.99 after $10 off. You do get Heroes free though.

Actually, I kinda wish I would have done that instead. It equals out to about $25 for 2 HDDVDs of your choice. Not so bad.

Just got back from BB.

Picked up Heroes, Transformers and Knocked Up...all for free.

Wow. No hassle either...the hot clerk chick looks a the screen, looks at the movies and then looks at me and says "THAT....is one hell of a deal!"
