Just got back from BB.

Picked up Heroes, Transformers and Knocked Up...all for free.

Wow. No hassle either...the hot clerk chick looks a the screen, looks at the movies and then looks at me and says "THAT....is one hell of a deal!"

Thanks for the headsup!!

Knocked up over 300? Are you mad?

is this nationwide? do they have the adds in the store?

Should be. It is in their circulars. One page has a toshiba player and says "7 HD DVDs free (2 in store, 5 mail in). On the xbox hd dvd page it says "Heroes free."

Oh, and King Kong still comes free in the box with the HD DVD player too.

So that's 8 movies and a sick box set.

Please tell me that you already have 300 somewhere tucked away.

Yeah, I was on the phone with my wife trying to make this decision. We took out 300 early on just because we've seen it already a couple of times and have it on DVD (yes, I know). Also considered Batman Begins...but have it too. Considered V for Vendetta vs. Knocked up for awhile. I just know I'll watch Knocked Up many, many times (I do that with comedies) and dramas/action flicks I usually only watch once.

Of the other choices, Knocked Up was the best choice for sure. You can find V for Vendetta and Batman Begins sub $10 at times.

$24? I thought the retail was $34?

It's 24 bucks...if I really feel I need to have it, I'll pick it up someday. :)

I'll probably never fire the 360 drive up at all, but your 360 needs to be powered on to play it. Do you have one of those loud 360's?

BTW, I've never really been in the HDD and Blu-Ray section before (no need.)

There are like 3 or 4 times as many HD DVD movies as Blu-Ray. I was a bit surprised.

That is surprising. It used to be the opposite. Early in the war, you would be lucky to have an HDDVD display at all. I think the format(s) are really starting to take off.

Keep in mind Netflix has them also. :)

I could never get into Netflix. I like owning the tangible product that I can watch over and over again, even if I never do.

Unless you are deaf.

I'm freaking giddy right now. This deal was a monster. I feel like I just hit a gamewinning three.

Did you see they also have the deal at buy.com above? $168 out the door, with no 2 free movies. Another hell of a deal.

Just picked mine up.

I got Shooter and The Departed for my two movies and got HDDVD Heroes + the free King Kong! I cant wait to mail it off for the 5 more. That deal is absolutley UNREAL!

Ok the lady at the store said that the only thing you need to mail in is the rebate form she printed off nothing form the box. Or a copy of a reciept. However the rebate form clearly says to mail all three in. I think that lady is on drugs.

Seriously. If more people knew about it BB would be crushed.

yea I was shocked that they still had about 10 boxes of Heroes left and about 15 HD players.

I was sure when I showed up they would be sold out. Lucky for me NOT!

I got the last Heroes in my BB, and there were only two HD DVD players left.

I can't believe any of you picked any of those movies over The Departed! It was really hard for me to choose between Letters and Shooter. But for pure entertainment I went shooter.

Plus I feel like Im sticking it to best buy if I make sure I am getting DVD's that are priced at 34.99 instead of giving them a break on the 24.99 to 29.99 ones :D

Rather have the Best buy deal.

I was really torn. I normally buy my movies for around the $12 or $13 price range at the most, so it pretty much works out, but I have the two movies in hand.

I already have the Departed on BluRay. :D

I briefly thought about Shooter, but because I have already seen Flags of our Fathers, I wanted to compare it with Letters instead. So that's what I got. Disturbia was a "I dunno why I am going to get this, but I am" purchase.

This deal is the best deal I have seen on HD DVD yet. I purchased a Xbox 360 add on back in May and kept it right up until the last day I had to return it, then I took it back knowing I would buy it again when I came across a great deal. This deal was exactly what I was looking for. Usually I have to convince the wife on these things but even she knew it was too good to pass up.

I did think about Departed, but I went with movies I haven't yet seen but know are good and that I don't already have on DVD anyway.
