I did think about Departed, but I went with movies I haven't yet seen but know are good and that I don't already have on DVD anyway.

Right. I am pretty sure that I would enjoy Disturbia, and I already owned most of the biggies. (300, Transformers, Departed, etc)

Where do you buy your HD Dvd movies from, generally?

buy.com is a HUGE one.

You can get $10 off by using Google checkout.

You can use it over and over. Just don't use the same credit card at the same time. (wait until you receive the movie before you purchase another. There are a TON of movies that you can buy for around $12 shipped after the $10 off. The more credit cards you use, the more often you can use it.

Speaking of Shane....

how many HDDVD did you end up getting from Buy.com? I ended up getting around 10 total between HDDVD and Bluray.

For the record, I prefer HDDVD when I have the choice.

Which ones should I pick?

That looks like a UK offer.

I may be in the minority, but World Trade Center is an excellent HD DVD, one of my favorites. Those lucky blokes in the UK....

The Prestige was a hell of a movie. Serenity is another one.

Those are some great movies.

I should have known without even looking at all of the UK stuff on the papers. The Presige is a Bluray only movie here in the states. That's why I had to buy the BR.

Ok, then...help me choose now:

Figure that is better than TIJ.

??? HATE Pitch Black. HATE.

I like it and the kids like it. Should look awesome.

???

???

I am also going to go Babel. If you hate pitch black, then you have to go The Thing. It is a classic horror movie, in fact, that may be my choice over Pitch Black. Definitely going Charlie and the Chocolate Factory over those others, it is visually stunning.

The Frighteners
U2: Rattle & Hum
Firewall

This is a horrible category. I have no interest in any of these movies especially U2, so I will flip a coin between Frighteners and Firewall.

Black Rain
Darkman
Troy

Another bad category. Too bad it isn't Purple Rain, I'd do that route. I have no idea which to pick from these ones.

Yeah, I am easily going with Troy in that one. Not a bad movie. Wife loves her some Orlando..and it will likely look sick in HD.

I've never heard of the frighteners. Peter Jackson made it, it's a 7 on IMDB...Mike J Fox. Looks corny. I don't understand.

fwiw, my ex really, really liked The Frighteners. I haven't seen it, but for the most part he & I agreed on movies. My older 2 liked it as well.

Get U2: Rattle and Hum. I think it won an Oscar or something.
