I got a message this morning from Yahoo asking me to change my password because my account may have been compromised.

Anybody ever come across this?

I have changed my password but not through the prompt screen, instead I went through my profile.

Please provide me your SS# and a major credit card number and I'll check into it for you.
















Don't know about Yahoo, but I just got a similar one from Paypal, even though I don't have an account through that particular email address. Smart to not use the link inside the email. Can't be too careful these days.

I've had a Yahoo account for over 8 years now, and I've never been asked that question.

We got that notice and did what you did - changed the password from within Yahoo.

That email may have been associated with a site that got hacked and your email was in the list.
