Uplifting. The whole team consensus on Palmer and Arians is really really great to read.

Hope it translates into good quarterback play in the regular season.

I love that the whole team leadership, (Palmer, Fitzgerald, Dockett), have bought into what BA is preaching and how he is preaching it. This is very telling to me. Palmer is right, ----- OTA's are NOT fun, but according to these three leaders, everyone is having fun out there in the OTA's. Yes, they are being chastised and challenged by Arians, and yes, to a man, they accept that and actually look forward to it. These veterans are out there in the heat, WILLINGLY, and are having fun while learning.

I truly believe that this entire roster has come to a point where they know that time is precious, and is steadily ticking on the roster leadership. All of them want to return to the SB, and all of them know that this may be the last chance to do so. No one is willing to waste that chance. That is a great place to start a new relationship with a coaching staff that is willing to impart knowledge that not many staffs have. The cumulative age of this staff, (while it does have some youngtsers), is way up there. So is their knowledge.

So, coupled with the vets showing the way, the rookies and new acquisitions are getting into line to absorb what they need to know also. There are tight bonds being formed already, and even wily vets like Karlos Dansby is here WILLINGLY, and is taking an active part in imparting his knowledge to Daryl Washington, and reciprocating by learning D-Wash's job too. At least to begin with, Los may be doing Wash's job, but at some point, they may be playing together this year, side by side.

This learning process and exchange of information and knowledge is happening all over the roster. PP-21 and Tyran Mathieu have a thing going, along with Kevin Minter, and so do Okefor and Sam Acho. These two Texas Longhorns are also bonding and sharing information with each other, about playing the same position. There is no petty jealousy seemingly keeping tempers hot and knowledge guarded.

I am sure that the heat will register when it comes time to show just who is going to be staying and who will be moving on, but for now, there is something really nice happening here in the desert.

"He's always honest," Palmer says. "It doesn't matter if it's Larry [Fitzgerald], myself or a seventh-round backup long snapper. He's in everybody's stuff. He's not a coddler And you just can't help but respect him. There's no ego whatsoever. And he's a guy who's got Super Bowl rings."

Love the fact that BA has been in Palmer and Fitz's grill already, trying to coach them up. Love the fact that even though he admits he loves Ryan Williams he also says he won't be convinced until he see's him in pads. Love the fact that he's been on the WR's all week! For several years we've been told WR was the strength of this offense, almost as if they didn't need any coaching up, and yet there is BA getting all up on Fitz and saying the mental errors are pissing him off--that he expects that stuff to be cleaned up after being told once and not brought back to the practice field the following week.

He brought in extra coaches and split the OTA's between rooks and vets and said even though it creates twice the work for coaches, "that's what they get paid for." That sends a message, because these players are making more than their coaches in most cases, and yet the coaches are working twice as hard as other coaches by splitting OTA's and watching twice as much film. Great message to send, great way to keep dudes focused.

"I love the head coach," Palmer said of Arians, a longtime offensive assistant who stunningly earned coach of the year honors after an impressive fill-in stint for the ailing Chuck Pagano in Indianapolis last season. "I mean, I love the head coach. He keeps it real. He already has this team wrapped around his finger. And we have some talented players in this locker room."

The difference between Whisenhunt being a player coach and keeping ****'s like Porter, Faneca, Heap, etc, and BA being a player coach: BA is "honest" and will rip your ass for suckage. He can love him some RWilliams and still say he's unconvinced until the dude wears pads and deals with contact. He can praise Fitz and still get in his face during practice. He can beg and plead for Palmer to come here, he can say Palmer has "the prettiest deep ball I've ever seen," and within one week get in his face for an INT in OTA's.

"So, they punctured a hole into my chest and stuck a tube in my lung [allowing the air between his lung and ribcage to escape] so I could get on the flight. And when they were doing that, with the tube sucking all the blood and air into a little box, I remember laying there and thinking, 'Yeah, I'm probably not gonna play next week.' And then I started thinking, 'Who knows what's gonna happen here next year?'"

Palmer is tough. Anyone worrying about him in that regard can stop. Drilling a hole in your chest so you can get on a flight to spend Xmas with your wife and kid? Damn. I love my family...but damn. That's not a physical toughness, that's mostly mental, and damn, just...damn.

Funny, I don't remember Dockett saying word one about Kolb.

It's like clock work.....

http://www.footballnewsnow.com/2011/kolbs-impact-on-cardinals-offense-how-would-wilson-injury-affect-defense/

Cardinals’ defensive tackle Darnell Dockett spoke with ESPN.com’s Mike Sando following Friday afternoon’s practice in Flagstaff, Ariz., and had this to say about the quarterback play so far under Kevin Kolb, compared to what they got from their quarterbacks last year.

“It’s like night and day from last year,” Dockett said. “I don’t want to disrespect nobody, but I mean, he’s good.”

“The Cardinals and their fans are still going through Kurt Warner withdrawals,” Sando said.

“They’ll embrace every sign of quarterback competence they can find.”

“He’s the leader, goes out there and gets the job done,” Dockett said.

The media & the players hope we will forget..... Problem is that the internet is forever.

Kolb really was a lot better than the other QBs after Warner. He just couldn't stay on the field. Of he wasn't fragile he might still be here and possibly starting.

Not that much better. In addition to getting hurt his sack % was ridiculously high and he just got worse every game he started.

Once we see Palmer play, and probably play all 16 games, it will really solidify that the Kolb trade and contract was the disaster several people said it was and the reason Ken Whisenhunt is in San Diego and not Phoenix.

How great is it to finally have a leader at the most important position on the field again!

You know, I think CC is more of a team-leader than DD. By a bunch.

No doubt CC is a beast. He's just not as vocal as Dock. But like it or not, Dockett brings the nastiness to the D that we need. He has to bring it this year though, and he's old, so we'll see.
