Completely agree. We lost 2 good, but overrated, players today (not including Q). Organizations that overpay are never successful, nor are those that "underpay". That's why I am cautiously waiting to see what happens in the next 2 months.

I'm trying to share your optimism, but tell me the last playoff team to lose 6 (maybe more) starters?

All good teams lose players, and players the TEAM feels like they can move forward without. Dansby while good was leaving this is not a surprise he wanted to leave, same goes for Q he wanted to be gone and said as much. Rolle well this loss doesn't hurt that much as well, the whole board would have went NUTS if the Cards signed the guy for that much geesh. The team will replace the guys and we will be fine moving forward not like we lost all-pro defensive players. Rolle still sucked in coverage and would have never made a pro bowl if not for all the players dropping out, and Dansby played well but again WANTED to leave period.

I am excited this teams FO has a plan and its not to resign guys for contracts they are not even close to being worth! Get some young guys in and let our coaching staff handle getting them to fill the positions of need!

actually, it's being reported by just about everyone that their plan WAS to resign those guys for those contracts, but both Dansby and Rolle simply decided to take similar contracts somewhere's else. so, really not sure what their plan is now. interested to find out though.

I would be surprised to hear that is true, CB. All the Cards fans I have talked to knew that this kinda stuff was coming. If the front office was thinking something different, then they definitely weren't aggressive as they should have been.

In my opinion, none of these players leaving should come as a surprise to any of us, especially this year. Dansby was franchised twice and there's no shame in him testing the market. Not suprised that the Dolphins scooped him up. Hate that Rolle went to the Giants, but what can you do? We couldn't have paid him that much.

I am keeping the faith and will wait to see what FA and the draft will bring.

OK name the 24 starters the Patriots have lost over the last 4 years.

never happened. NFL teams just don't turn over starters in the numbers we have seen from the 2009 Cardinals, unless you win 2-4 games.

First team I looked at. Chargers from 2008 to 2009.

Mike Tolbert was replaced by Jacob Hester at FB
Cesaire replaced Olshanky at DE
Louis Vasquez replaced Mike Goff at OG
Brandyn Dombrowski for LJ Shelton at RT
Kevin Burnett for Matt Wilhelm at ILB
Kevin Ellison for Clinton Hart at SS

I'm not exactly sure on the other guys and the ways they left the team, but Shelton wasn't starting, and Dombrowski didn't replace him after free agency. Dombrowski ended up starting multiple positions after injuries forced him there.

I don't know this from pure football knowledge, I just know the guys.

When Whizz's right hand man also got extended the same time He did, I lost some confidence as to what this Free Agency period would bring us. Oh yeah, Graves. He just is not decisive enough. So my confidence is down a little, especially after losing that 5th rounder to the Ravens.

Nope, and of our mythical "6" not all left via free agency. PLaying by their guidelines. The point was different starters from 2008 to 2009 and still make the playoffs. Then who was the starting RT, because he didn't start 2009 games and is no longer on the roster.

I really hope you are right. Of course any FB player not named Pat Tillman puts money at the top of their priority list. Just wondering why Brackett can sign in Indy and Los won't in Az.
