MLB Opening Day is finally here and Yankee fans are getting ready to flock to the Bronx to see their favorite players at bat once again against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Last year, the Yankees made it all the way to the World Series for the first time in 15 years, hoping to win their tenth-ever title. However, in the fifth inning of Game 5 of the series, the Los Angeles Dodgers prevailed, making them the champions.

This season, the Yankees, manager Aaron Boone and legendary shortstop Aaron Judge are back for revenge, but not without a few bumps in the road along the way.

Dominican outfielder Juan Soto traded in a Yankees jersey for a Mets jersey and a historic 15-year, $765 million contract after the season was over, causing major controversy in the New York baseball world.

Soto switching sides was a major loss for the Yankees, as Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record reports that Soto and Judge had a legendary 99 home runs, 262 walks and a combined 253 RBI between them.

Pro pitcher Gerritt Cole underwent elbow surgery on March 13, leaving him out for the season indefinitely, along with designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton, who is also suffering from elbow injuries — tendinitis in both elbows. 2024 Rookie of the Year Luis Gil is also missing from the starting lineup Thursday against the Brewers and isn't expected to return until July.

Injuries aside, the magic of baseball is returning once again to the Bronx for another season, bringing back memories of old with vintage train rides and likely appearances from Baseball Hall of Famers, while also hoping to bring back the legacy of New York domination in baseball with new players and new memories.
