Yelling At Dockett

I was in the category of screaming "fall down!"

It all ended well, so it's easy to forgive.

I was more worried that he would somehow get injured, than that he would fumble the ball and the Eagles would take it to the house.

I knew the "smart" play was to get down, but I wanted him to score. So, I was yelling "Go, go!"

The risk of a fumble hurting us there was miniscule.

I have been a Cardinal fan long enough to be considerably worried about the risk of him fumbling it and somehow the Eagles getting the ball and going 90 yards for the score.

I promise you -- that thought was going through my mind during the 4 seconds he was running around with the ball.

I was yelling to for him to go down. Once you have possession, you go down to end the game. The Francisco fumble was playing in my mind once I saw Dockett trying to run it into the end zone.

Now now, no need for the FSU smack. Besides, we have more Rhodes Scholars the last four years than any major BCS school, 3 to be exact.

But I will agree, Dockett has never been the most eloquent in interviews.

When interviewed he said "all I kept remembering was what they did to us on Thanksgiving and I wanted to score"

lol. as i was typing my response i was wondering if that went through his head. still not smart.

His parents sat right behind me on my return flight out of Phoenix. I had previously run into them at the DC game last season.

You could definately see how proud they are of both him and the Cards team this year.

Love Dockett. If he can learn to control himself and keep from getting some of the stupid penalties that he seems to brings... he just might go down as a truely special player in this league.

I could have swore that during his interview with Terry Bradshaw last week they stated he lost(passed away) BOTH of his parents in the same year as a young teenager maybe 12 or 13 YOA?

Same here he had that ball totally secure and he didn't try to get fancy when he got hit.

I was however praying someone would tackle Francisco or he'd just run out of bounds on his int. As soon as he started running with it I knew it was going to get stripped.

Honestly, was so relieved when he picked it off that while it occurred to me to think that he should just get down, I actually relaxed for the first time all game even while I was thinking that he should get down.

I also realized right then that I was absolutely exhausted from yelling at the TV for three hours.
