He’s had his best success with trades, but those are most often the most expensive manner in which to build a franchise as they cost both high dollars and draft picks compensation.
I was curious about just how much draft pick compensation Keim has given up over the years, so I compiled a list of his trades from pro-football-reference.com. Gotta say... the picks given up didn't amount to much. (Which is of course not to say that no good players were available, or that the compensation given up had no value.)
