  1. Try to get Kurt Warner to come back for one more year.
If Kurt Warner decides to come back:

  1. Sign/ draft CBs who fit this system (preferably with height)
  2. Do further evaluation on what coaches (if any) I want to be gone for next year
  3. Offer what I feel is fair to soon to be free agents
  4. Add depth on the O-Line and at QB
If Warner decides to retire:

  1. Sign a QB
  2. The rest of the above list except the QB part of #4

Whatever any of you do, please force Whiz and Grimm's hand into moving Levi Brown to right guard. Then go sign a real-life right tackle. See if Willie Colon can be had.

Lets see Levi Brown's worse part of his game is his strength and you want to move him inside??????? Makes no sense.

1. Fix the pas rush (Find replacements for Berry, Okeafor & possibly Dansby)

2. Get a starting CB that can cover (Trade Anquan for a good one)

3. Find Gandy's replacement (1st or 2nd round draft pick)

4. Bring in a QB to challenge Matty (Kurt is gone IMO)

Cut that CHOKING DOG, Rackers. He had better be toast. When the game is on the line, he'll make about 30% of his kicks. We can do better & I really don't give a rat's a$$ if he's great on onside kicks & making tackles.

Agreed. He followed his miss yesterday with a kickoff out of bounds...he is a head case.

2006 Misses FG as time expries against KC we lose 23 - 20, a week later misses FG against Bears on Monday Night we lose 24-23...only 2 kicks he is asked to make on the final drive all season.

2007 misses FG against 49ers in OT and we lose 37-31, later misses FG after we recover an onside kick in a game we lose 21-19 to the Redskins

Last game where he made a FG on the final drive to win or tie for us? I could only find 2007 against the Falcons he tied it up late and then won it in OT

2008 & 2009 he was never called in to make a game winning/tying kick...until the Green Bay game.

Everyone says new kicker but who are you going to bring in? Please someone tell me who is available that's better than Rackers?

You bring a couple of guys and have them kick against each other and decide in camp. If you trust Rackers in the clutch more power to you.

alot of the off seaon will depend on what Warner's going to do. I don't think he'll be like Favre and stretch out his decision. If he comes back and the rumors are true that Carroll wants Leinart,i would listen and see how bad he wants ML. I'm a ML supporter but if Warner would come back and Carroll would somehow offer a #1 pick then i would probably do it. If Warner retires then you go with ML and all trade offers are off the table. Boldin is the tough question. I've been for tarding him the last 2 years if you can get a #1 for him. He won't command a #1 pick but i'd still do it for a #2. Miami and Bmore being the most likely destinations.

Guys that i hope i never see in a Cards uniform again:
Urban
Beisel
Abdullah
Brown
Bridges
Okeafor
Rackers
Berry, he's just getting too old.

Guys i'd bring back:(not sure of the entire list)
Gandy-for a cheaper deal, he'd be good insurance
Dansby
Lutui
Watson
Branch

free agency: Cards will be limited and aren't usually big players anyway.
Vince Wilfork would be #1 target if he hit the market.

draft:assuming Boldin gets dealt for a #2
1-Terence Cody-NT, nose tackle is one of,if not the most, important position in the 3-4
2-Brandon Spikes-ILB-a need pick, and a good one
2-Javier Arenas-CB, alsom returns punts
3-Chad Jones-S-playmaker and the secondary needs playmakers
4-Ciron Black-he's free falling on draft boards
5-Thaddeus Gibson-not sure why he delcared but he has all the tools.

for the most part I agree with that list but add Wright too. Wright shouldn't be allowed back in the Cards complex, stupid ass clown.

I wouldn't go all out defense in the draft. In my opinion the cards have holes to fix on offense as well especially on the offensive line if Warner retires.
Leinart doesn't handle the blitz as well as Kurt obviously and he won't pass as well which will make running the ball tougher with a suspect offensive line.

We also need to look for a good tight end I think, imagine having a TE like Gonzalez, Gates, Shockey, Heap, Winslow, Davis, Finley or Witten.

I can't be too specific about what players exactly since I don't follow college football except for the title game and only know the players based on scouting reports.

And I am not sure who is available in FA but I would :

1. Trade Boldin to the highest bidder for picks , say Baltimore for their #1 and #3. Just a #1 pick would do it though in my opinion, but hey see Roy Williams.
2. Trade one 3rd round pick and next years 2nd round pick for a #2 and #4.

Based on draftcountdown.com projections

Draft:
1a. TE-Jermaine Gresham
1b. ILB-Brandon Spikes
2a. OLB/DE-Ricky Sapp
2b. QB-Colt McCoy
3. OT-Jason Fox
4a. Center or BPA
4b. Wide Receiver / Punt Returner

Rest BPA

Free Agency:

- re-sign Dansby
- sign a #2 CB
- sign a DE
- sign a veteran defensive line player for whatever else is needed

Are you aware that Arenas is a short 5'-9"?
so are alot of good CB's. Antoine Winfield is short. The two starters for the Saints are both listed at 5'10. That's why he's a 2nd round pick and not a 1st. He'd be a nickel back,at best, next year but would impact the return game from day 1. I agree that there is a concern being shorter but he's pretty stout being listed at 198.If the Cards wanted a bigger CB, i wouldn't be mad about taking someone other than Arenas.

I dont think well even be close to signing all those guys. Maybe some depth but not a GOOD CB. We only get to sign what our expiring players make on their new team. That could be squat. Our biggest way of getting a good free agent is letting Dansby walk and whatever he gets from his new team, we get to spend on a player.

- Trade Q to Bears for Tillman and 3rd round (add O-Line Depth)
- Find D Coordinator that will actually IMPROVE the D
- Merriman is a good idea
- Unload BSP and find another QB with experience... JUST IN CASE ML is actually what we have seen him to be lately
- Re-Sign Whiz and Lott
- Unload McFadden
- Hire DB Coach who teaches LOOKING for the BALL and tackling
- Focus on draft and be as good as the last couple of years at finding talent

I am on board with all of this, JC. I think you hit the jackpot here.

Well, if no new CBA is made, Lutui, and Watson are RFAs. Those are easy decisions. Both would get high tender, and would be steals.

Branch has a year left on his contract. He is not a free agent, but he will be relatively expensive (worth it tho).

Gandy made 5.8 million last year. No way he comes back when you can have Keith and Herman Johnson battle for a position next year.

Again, if there is no CBA it will leave Dansby as our only core FA to deal with this year. I think if the there is not a new CBA Dansby is going to be a Cardinal for a long time. Or at the very least will have 1 of the 3 tags available to the Cardinals used on him.

The issues with Boldin, Dockett, and Rolle are still there but they are not free agents this year and all under contract.

So you are telling me that in all 4 of those years, we didn't win one game by 3 points or less that included a field goal kicked by Rakers?

An awful lot depends on Kurt Warner's decision on coming back for another year or retiring.

1. If Kurt comes back, obviously Q is here another year whether playing out his contract or getting extended. (I'm not sold on Early's durability and Urban should not be back IMO.)

2. I'd offer Karlos Dansby pretty much the same deal as last offseason and if he balks, I'd let him go. No franchise tag this year.

3. Get an extension done with Antron Rolle before his huge roster bonus is due.

4. Give Lutui and Breaston the first round tender level assuming a new contract with players union is not reached.

5. Draft linebackers, defensive backs and an offensive tackle come April.

Sign the coach to a big contract.
Shut up, do your job, get rewarded.

Re-up Lott.

Let Karlos walk.
That frees up some money to lock up guys like Breaston and Rolle long-term (they may not "need" it, but Breaston for sure, has earned it.

Karlos is really, really good, but this team has more pressing needs.
There's also a tremendous chance of finding a very good replacement in the draft in the top 3 rounds.

Watch the market, but pass on anyone who's not depth or inexpensive.
If the team wants to be aggressive in the draft and makes some trades, this would be the year to do it.

Im sure everyone will disagree, but I don't think we will get good value for Boldin. He is often hurt, and most teams won't give up a whole lot for someone that has a history of injury. Im a little concerned about this last injury....its either worse than it seems to be, or he just won't play injured. Personally, I think he would have played if he could have.
