Think of a past Cardinal draft choice the made everyone think "you got to be kidding me". Not heralded players who turned out to be busts. But just high picks that left everyone scratching their heads, or wondering who or why?

1991, Eric Swann - drafted 6th overall by Cards, not from a college or university, but from an unheard of semi-pro league where he played for $5 an hour. What the hell!

It was also a guy over 300 pounds who was once clocked at about 4.6 and 4.7 in the forty, he was a freak whose route to the pros was shocking but not as much his ability which many teams felt highly about, though the average fan did not know much about him :)

Highly enough that he was often triple teamed.

I'm not sure I can speak for "everyone" so I'll just offer up my "you got to be kidding me" moment. It was way back in 2012 when we took a wide receiver in the first round despite having glaring needs elsewhere and the selection didn't seem to warrant the BPA tag. If forced to go for the group WTF you requested, I'd second Osbern16's choice for the trade down to get Pace and Johnson.

The entire 1986 draft was a WTF draft, save for Vai Sikahema and Ray Brown.

Rob Housler in the 3rd round when Ryan Mallet was right there for the pickings.

"OMG, The Cardinals just drafted a girl."

Shameful.

It's been awhile since I've complained much about the Cards on draft day. As crazy as is sounds - I think Denny Green brought some stability in that regard to our process. Though I think Floyd was a panic pick in a desperate attempt to recapture the Boldin/Fitzgerald successes.

Oh, and Swann was a stud pick.

Go Cards!!!

I'm still hung up on Andre Roberts over Everson Griffin- I still like Levi Brown - yes AP would have been a great pick but - He seems like a risk at the time - when we didn't need to take any risk. I give Levi as much credit as anyone for our SB run- He protected a slow old Kurt Warner throwing more than 66% of the time! That is a tough task- and allowed 26 sacks in well over 600 passes- Joe Thomas would never be asked to try that!

Levi can do it again too! He'll be a long term tackle for the Cardinals for 10 years

I'm not sure AP would get enough carries under Whiz? and i'm not sure Suggs would have been so productive in our many defenses since? Kelly Stouffer would have to be my choice.
