Bob Young posted his last column for the Republic today as the sports writing tongue for or against the Suns. Last night on 45 they made a quick announcement that Young will now be taking advantage of an advancement and will be writing articles for page 2 of the Republic. We will all need to check to see who the designated new writer will be.

Young was awful. Good riddance. Unfortunately, I don't expect much better from whomever replaces him (better meaning a true beat reporter, sniffing out leads and telling us what is really going on in the locker room).

I felt he was pretty pro-forma, but it could be worse. Let's hope it isn't Bickley.

One other thought - Young was with the team on the road trip. Maybe their plan was to wait until the Suns came home.

Agreed. I never had a problem with Young. It was the "national" guys--along with Gambo and Bickley--that I had most of my problems with. I actually enjoy Bob Young and Paola Boivin.

I agree Chap, well except for Paula because I didn't know she existed somehow
He was by far the best reporter for the suns in Phoenix, and I don't have high hopes of an awesome sports writer to take his place, since Phoenix just isn't as cool to be as back east.
