Just speaking as a fan, and certainly not an expert, I'm hoping we draft, in order, OL, Edge, ILB and WR, with our first four picks.

And, while it means nothing, I was thrilled to be on the Draft floor for the 1970 Draft, when it was held at the Biltmore Plaza in NYC. Much less of a show and the highpoint for me was being able to sneak some of my friends in for a free lunch and then for free drinks at night when it was concluded. Pete Rozelle (Sp?) was the Comish. Great memories.
Yer old as dirt Garth... I was 2, barely even chewing tobacco at the time of that draft

Would have been a good scheme fit if they had not drafted Darius Robinson, signed Calais Campbell and re-signed Collier. Now, not so much. Plus, a super-talented DT with maturity-issues from Ole Miss? I still have PTSD after Nkemdiche.
You shouldnt not draft that guy because you signed Calais(40 yo) or Collier(replaceable)

Convenient to leave out Darius Robinson from my argument, plus consider that they have Dante Stills on the roster. Everyone is replaceable, by the way.
Not convenient just true Darius Robinson isn’t going anywhere, but he’s also not holding the line over the next four or five seasons by himself need more talent….. the other two are old and much more replaceable than DR. But hey you do you.

I am a fan. I don't need to think about how the roster looks in five seasons. I want to win next season.

Anyway, there is certainly something to be said about drafting to have strength on strength. I personally think Cardinals are not good enough to do that, and I doubt that they will draft a guy to be third-stringer (potentially second, if he beats out Stills).

What does it mean? That a player at the combine in shorts has similar numbers to a great player's numbers in shorts at the combine? I guess it's not nothing, but posting it the way you did is an attempt to directly correlate player to player. RAS does nothing to do that. RAS can be nice in choosing one prospect over another, if you have two players you like equally. That's where I feel its use is, NOT in saying one player is like a pro bowl NFL player. That will always get a "Child, please" response from me.

Be honest. Those RAS comparison posts are meant to be somehow definitive. Don't split hairs--back up what you post and say you value RAS highly.

I don't know man. If teams think a guy is a 12 sack a year or more guy he's likely to go top 8. There's a lot of "maybe" guys in this draft.
Both those guys have questions which is what would keep them out of the top 10. I agree with the basic sentiments that if those questions turn out to be nothing, then they probably are looked back on as being underrated. Micah Parsons was similar. The hazing stuff, size questions, and his lack of sack production look silly now, but they were why he didn't go top 10.

If Pearce is available at #16 he slid for character. These are the types of players the Cards pass on. Then they go on to dbl digit sacks and pro bowls.

In looking at trade options the Cards could potentially swap with New Orleans if NO wants Sanders and the Cards want Campbell or Johnson or a specific Edge. The Cards would give up their second but in addition to NO’s first they’d get back NO’s third round pick, #93.

Tony Pauline has updated his mock. He is one of the best

I'm ok with a great guard if Booker is a safe pick. Everyone seems to indicate he starts day 1 and plays solid for years..I'm good with that pick as long as there isn't a better pass rusher there. Like a dbl digit edge guy.

Regarding volatility in the actual draft vs pre draft rankings:

check it out as it represents some VERY different rankings from others.

as an example: Josh Simmons and Donovan Jackson at #16 and #17 ranked higher than Armand Membou at #19.

Mike Green at #44. Etc.

And Sharp's guy who did this is #8 overall in accuracy over the last 5 years (lucky or good? tough to say)

I dont think this is the draft to get emotionally attached to where your favorite prospect is ranked going into it

Like every year, I want us to trade down. If we can’t get Mike Green,or Simmons, Or Grant. I say trade down.

Those are the three that I want. If we draft a WR at 16 I’ll lose my hit.

A solid 3 round mock! Getting the Mullet on the 3rd would be an absolute steal! I'd very happy with this!

16) Arizona Cardinals
James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee
The Cardinals showed considerable growth in their second season under Jonathan Gannon and General Manager Monti Ossenfort. After a highly successful draft class just a year ago, which featured Marvin Harrison Jr., continuing to build on that momentum by adding another cornerstone piece at a premium position is crucial.

Pearce overwhelms tackles with speed and finesse; but be careful not to underestimate his power. He has no problem walking tackles straight back into the pocket. He’s dominant with his explosiveness and athleticism and lethal on stunts. Allowing Pearce to learn and develop alongside highly respected veteran Calais Campbell would put him on track for long-term success.
47) Arizona Cardinals

Tre Harris, WR, Mississippi
78) Arizona Cardinals

Tate Ratledge, OG, Georgia
