If Kiem could make DeSean Jackson work, I would love a draft that goes
1-Rueben Foster ILB
2-Pat Elflein C
3-Kevin King CB

I like most of your plan but I'm not a Desean Jackson fan because he does say and do some really dumb stuff, great talent but 10 cent head.

Have you given up on Boehm?

Been saying it off and on for awhile so here goes.
RB.
Russ this is good start but why don't you give us your take on FA pickups because a couple good ones could relieve your rub on drafting a WR, OG. We will need to replenish a good number of departing players and can probably upgrade in many cases.

Here is my extreme unlikely to happen plan.

Re-sign the players currently on the roster:
- Stepfan Taylor, RB/FB/ST
- Jermaine Gresham, TE
- Chandler Jones, OLB
- Tony Jefferson, FS/SS <-- Franchise need be.
- Sio Moore, ILB (depth)
- Mike Jenkins, CB (depth, team friendly only!)
- Marcus Cooper, CB (depth, if Jenkins is too expensive, & team friendly only!)

Free Agency Signings:
- Terrelle Pryor, WR
- Larry Warford, OG
- JC Tretter, OC
- Dont'a Hightower, ILB
- Dre Kirkpatrick, CB

I think if this were to get done, I believe, it would fit under the cap, and give the Cardinals a good enough roster to contend. Problem is most of the free agents will not make it to free agency. Not to mention this would still leave holes at Free safety and mattering on where the Cardinals like to play Chandler Jones in the nickel package, without a replacement for the role Alex Okafor plays for this team currently. Finally, this relies on players like Tyrann Mathieu, John Brown, and Darren Fells to return to their level of play from the 2015 season.

Still this would sure up the offensive line, replace our big body receiver role, give the Cardinals an actual inside linebacker, and an effective CB #2 that has the length and size the Cardinals like.

The low cost alternative to Desean Jackson is Marquise Goodwin. What I like about Jackson is that he is a guy who is proven to be a deep threat. He isn't without his warts, but he is a proven guy who does what we like receivers to do very well. I wouldn't get into a bidding war for him, but I don't think we will have to.

Regarding Boehm...I haven't seen anything that makes me feel like he is a future starter, and I put a ton of emphasis on the C position. I like what I have seen from Elflien, and if he is there, I think we should take him unless the coaches are sold on Boehm.

I actually think this is a pretty good plan, if we can fit all of it under the cap. If I were SK, I would go directly to Palmer and give him the option of taking a pay cut or wishing him well somewhere else. That additional $10M could help with this plan, if we could somehow add CC to this that would be the cherry on top. For those who ask, who is out there or feel Glennon would be a bad choice, remember he had a really good rookie year (19 TD, 9 INT, 2,600 YRDS, nearly 60% completion percentage & 83.9 QB rating) and TB's coaching situation was a mess then they get the #1 pick and obviously Winston was the clear cut BPA so they took him. Glennon shook off some rust and has played in 2 games this year and did extremely well. He shouldn't break the bank as he is probably just looking for a place he can start. Also, for those who argue, Palmer is the only QB who can turn this team around, look at DEN with Siemen. No one knew who this guy was but he is having a good year on a 8-6 DEN team (I would commit murder to be 8-6 in lieu of 5-8-1). I'm sure I'll get a "a squirrel finds a nut every once in a while" but as some have mentioned a game manager who doesn't make a lot of mistakes (anti-Palmer) is all that is needed because with DJ, we won't need to throw 30 - 40 times a game.

As for RM's plan, the holes at FS, QBOF, situational pass rusher, CC replacement (if he can't be re-signed) and maybe a receiver or 2 can be added with a really good draft by Keim.

Pretty nice selection. I don't think Hightower leaves NE. I think Pryor would be a great addition. The only thing you forgot was a punter and a return man. Right now the team has neither.

Working on it.

Its an interesting offseason, and believe it or not, the scariest part is the offensive line. I really do not see anything out in free agency to bring in. Granted Veldheer, Iupatit, and Humphries are here, but I have NO IDEA what the Cardinals will do at guard and center.....NONE.

Would anyone be adverse to putting Donta Hightower and Karlos Dansby at ILBer next year ? Maybe move Deone Bucanon back to safety ?
Draft rg and Boehm center?

I think Alshon Jeffery is a UFA. He's my number 1 target on the free agent market. Tag/re-sign Jones and get CC to sign a fair deal. I would love Reuben Foster in round 1 but Raekwon McMillan in round 2 would be a pretty good consolation prize. Hell, I'd even take them 1-2 and move Buccanon to safety.

I'm also really starting to like the WR Davis that Bucky pointed out to me from Western Michigan. My first round preferences are:
1- Foster
2- Mike Williams
3- Davis

I think there's a chance Deshaun Watson is there in round 2 for the Cards as well.
Jeffery seems to get hurt every year

I love how we now judge player talent, based on their Fantasy stats, etc...sign of the times, I suppose.

It's not on fantasy stats, it's if you had the guy in the last 2 years you are paying attention to him and seeing he is always injured

Setting aside player personnel decisions for now:

A new ST coach

A fresh look at the way our special teamers prepare during offseason, preseason and between games.

An ongoing review of injuries and how changes in conditioning/weight training and rehab might minimize both the number and severity of injuries & their downtime.

Review of the type of offense and defense we want to run, the profiles of the "ideal" types of players we want to slot into each position, a plan for acquiring players necessary for filling roster holes, an assessment of what we did right, what we did wrong, where we ran into bad luck, what changes we should make and what our "Plan B's" should be should we we fall short of our personnel goals.

Review of players with personnel challenges and the steps the club can do to best help them address those challenges.

That sort of stuff.

Based on what we have seen unfold this season I'm very concerned about locker room chemistry and that's why I don't even consider Jackson.

Coaches are trying to get Boehm playing time on ST's etc. but the results thus far don't seem to be overly positive. I'm holding out hope that he will at least be a solid C and the upgrade can come down the road.
