Griffin's list obviously doesn't do that because he lists The Office, Modern Family and House.

I know. I thought that was your point in the first place so I incorporated that idea into my list. Plus, it gave me a chance to plug some good summer shows that have yet to earn their own thread. I'm amazed at how many decent shows there are that have recently started their runs. In addition to the five I mentioned, there's also Memphis Beat and The Gates although I think both of those will have a difficult time succeeding (especially The Gates).

Stout said that Caprica was not on TV, I was just commenting on that.

It would be impossible for me to do a list of what is airing right now, because most shows are on a break and also I watch a lot of shows long after they've aired. I just finished Dexter's season 3, Glee and Caprica. I guess at some point in the future all the shows I listed will be airing again (hopefully at the same time) so just ignore my list until then ;)

RIGHT NOW, I'm not sure I can come up with 5 shows:

1) Rescue Me
2) The Good Guys
3) Persons Unknown (not a top show, but one I'm at least watching)
4) Memphis Beat (watching at work)

Now - as in, not canceled or wrapped up. Much harder considering three of my favorite shows are no more. (Lost, Nip Tuck, and 24.)

1. Dexter
2. True Blood (Don't tell anyone. Although Season 2 was almost too weird for me.)
3. Chuck
4. House
5. Hells Kitchen (Mindless entertainment.)

I really need to find another cable series to get into. They seem to be the most interesting. Just don't know what's good.

From your list, I think you might enjoy at least one of the new summer shows. The Glades, Covert Affairs and Haven all seem to be something you might like. Several others, such as Rookie Blue, Rizzoli & Isles, Memphis Beat and The Gates might work for you also. Most of those are cable shows although Rookie Blue is ABC (very ABC, feels like Grey's Anatomy in cop world).

Yeah, but I thought that Caprica was dead in the water and over. The show just fell off the face of the earth, with no word if or when it would be back, and I also thought that I read it was cancelled. It would be news to me if it's ever back.

Also, to comment on Rescue Me, it used to be one of the best, most cutting edge shows out there. Starting a season or two ago, it just devolved into over-the-top soap opera crap. Yes, it was always a soap opera for guys, but the cheese just took over and it's no longer any good. That's just my opinion, of course.

No, it's coming back sometime towards the end of the year.

Good deal. It isn't the greatest, but I was enjoying it a bit.

Remember what I said about TV execs killing shows with the stop-start-who-knows-what's-happening trend? I give you exhibit a ;)

SyFy does that with a lot of their shows. They'll take full seasons and split them up during the year. Didn't they do that with Battlestar season 4?

3. 30 Rock

I've finally caught up on all the Dexter episodes, so I might have to watch that this season.

Okay, Chap. It took a couple of episodes into the 3rd season, but I'm finally hooked. Supernatural is a good show.

(I posted this hear because I didn't want to have anything spoiled for me in the show's thread).

Totally worth the investment. The show blends so many different facets so well. From the goofy, to the scary, to the bond between Sam/Dean.

Seasons 4 and 5, especially 5, will payoff wonderfully.
