Don't forget about a playmaker in the secondary while Byron Murphy just made the Pro Bowl and had more INTs (6) than our entire secondary combined (4) and one fewer INT than our entire team (7).

Maybe if Monti started to make better moves people would talk less about his mistakes.
We're still in desperate need of impact talent at both corner and DL. This is where tear it down to the studs and using the TNT on the foundation really hurts - it didn't have to be this way.

I guess my question is what is the statute of limitations on bitching about mistakes?

The Rams loss was last week. Let it go already.

Can we bitch about releasing Deandre Hopkins for nothing? Are we only allowed to remember the good stuff?
Remember all you want. But what’s the point in bringing it back up every few weeks that he has a great game? 2 years after the fact no less? Does it give you satisfaction? Serious question? Were Cardinals fans we all live in enough misery I’d say without having to be reminded of it constantly. We’ve all lived it.

Should have extended Allen and Murphy before their final season. Once the season started and things went bad sure they may have wanted to go elsewhere. Some people here were saying Allen was way overpaid by Broncos and was a JAG. Murphy was also deemed to be not that good. Bottom line we blew it.

Monti had TWO MONTHS to convince him otherwise. He didn’t or couldn’t.

Maybe one day we will find out.

TBF- Allen has been average to s
above average (last year). He has been elite this year...6th year in the league.

We certainly needed him this year.

Yes and we spent heavily for two average DL (below average starters) in FA this year who promptly got injured.

That is actually what Allen said. Can you find a legitimate article or quote that bolster your position?
I’m not refuting that he said that. I’m saying when a player has a preference it is literally the gms job to get him to change his mind to play for the gms team. Do they succeed 100% of the time? Of course not. But neither is it okay for them not to succeed. It’s still a failure on their part.

lol and we may have 11 wins had we kept him if we were lucky and he didn’t blow out his knee here which is more likely lol…. Still bitching about this 2 years later is prime ASFN
I don’t view it as bitching. I view it as part of analyzing monti’s effectiveness, or lack thereof, as a roster builder. Do you not consider every season and every transaction, or failure, of a gm when assessing their ability? Weird post.

Making up a phantom injury to excuse the organization is more prime ASFN than anything you just attacked.

You and others have bitched for 2 years does that mean you’re gonna keep bitching 5 more years from now? Get a grip. It’s done get over it. Hate to be any of your exes lol… sheesh
Not if monti is gone and it’s a new gm making decisions. If monti is still here, the passrush and dline are still subpar and Allen continues to produce? Absolutely. And you should too. Or you can just be mad at ASFN posters criticizing the failing gm and continue to stuff the poop the organization feeds you in your face.

Man, the two players most of us wanted to retain, on a talentless defense, producing big defensive performances is striking in a cerebral fan’s assessment of monti’s decisionmaking.

Do personnel decision failures not get factored in when thinking about a gm? We should just not include them? I don’t get it.

Zack Allen lived through a drunken GM debacle and a college coach being thrown in way over his head.
It's very likely the final meeting went something like, "hey, I don't really know you Monti but you seem to be a great guy. I wish you the best of luck, honestly. But I can't in good faith tie my future to the idea that you can step in here and clean up the total shitshow this organization has been since I came here. I mean really, my grandma called me out at Thanksgiving dinner asking how I could work for these people.
No hard feelings, I wish you the best, but no. I'm out of here"

Fun fanfic here but there’s no basis that this is “likely” what happened. Cmon.

Where is your basis that it's not?
We know he wanted to follow Vance.
We know he played through the drunken GM drama.
We know he played for an under qualified HC in over his head.
We know about the player surveys..
Are you questioning rather grandma was at Thanksgiving dinner or what?

Explanations of why Zach Allen signed with Denver and did not resign with us are pure speculation. It has been reported that the Cards were interested, but that's as far as it goes. Was Zach's motivation money, a preference for Vance Joseph, dislike of the Cardinal organization, Ossenfort or JG? Who knows?

All we know is that he signed with Denver and Cardinals are worse off for it.

Probably THE two players most of us were wanting to keep. I was even in favor of keeping Hollywood at a reduced rate but can see why he was let go. Now we get these 3 play prominent roles(yes, I think Brown will be a factor in the playoffs) for 3 playoff teams and two with a great shot at the SB.
